Hence Marketing is looking for a qualified Content Manager to join our team! We’re a remotely based marketing agency growing out of Middle Tennessee, and we’re expanding quickly. We support clients both locally and nationally. We believe in authenticity and transparency, and we strive to offer both in everything we do.
As a Content Manager, you’ll be responsible for coordinating, creating, and managing all content for one or more clients. Managed content will include social media and will likely include email campaigns, social ads, basic graphic templating (Canva), editing video content, website copy, and/or blogging — determined by the clients’ unique content strategies.
Our ideal candidate is an experienced, eager professional with demonstrable copywriting skills. As a Content Manager, you should perform well under deadlines, be able to manage multiple priorities, and be detail-oriented. If you’re also an expert in content optimization and brand consistency, we’d love to meet you.
Ultimately, you should be able to oversee all content initiatives to ensure engagement, brand consistency, conversion, and a positive client experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Follow a provided content strategy that list client guidelines, goals, expectations, and brand identity
• Manage, create, and schedule original, high-quality content; source curated content
• Analyze, understand, and respond to client Key Performance Indicators
• Perform light graphic editing (Canva) using provided client templates
• Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media and apps/sites
• Community engagement: Engage with followers and respond to inquiries in a timely manner during business hours
• Oversee social media accounts’ cohesion and presentation (e.g., Facebook cover, profile pictures, blog layout)
• Identify trends and insights and plan accordingly
• Develop a content calendar in advance to ensure client has sufficient time to approve it
• Ensure compliance with law (e.g., copyrighting, client industry-specific regulations, and data protection)
• Brainstorm new/creative strategies and ideas to draw target audiences’ attention
• Preferred: Have a basic understanding of Meta Ads Manager; optimize ad spend/performance based on insights
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Availability weekdays during business hours with the ability to work a minimum of 50 hours/month.
• High-speed home internet, smart phone (with adequate storage space for new apps associated with the position), and a computer (with we**am) capable of handling multiple processes simultaneously
• A quiet space in which to participate in virtual meetings
JOB SKILLS
• Excellent copywriting skills
• Professional demeanor, trustworthy

• Highly self-motivated, honest, and transparent
• Ability to own one’s mistakes and learn from them
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Proven work experience as a copywriter, social media manager, content manager, or relevant position
• Hands-on experience using social media for brand awareness
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
• Ability to represent the client’s brand voice in engaging with followers/subscribers
• Experience editing together short- and long-form videos for social media preferred
• Experience with the following platforms a plus but not required:
- Social scheduling hosts (e.g., Hootsuite, Later)
- Canva
- Mailchimp, Omnisend, or similar
- Google Docs and Sheets
- InShot, iMovie, or similar
DETAILS
• This is a part-time 1099 contractor role with full-time potential, if desired
• You must be available during regular business hours
• Pay is contract-based on a per-client basis and determined by experience
• Separate employment is not prohibited, but it must not interfere with your ability to be available to, and proactive for, client needs
