From concept to final cut... and the data to prove it! 🎬✨

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at our recent Mother’s Day video project for 2 Acre Farms. We had a blast fully recording and editing this piece, but the real magic happened after we hit “publish.”
With a minimal digital ad spend of just $50, this campaign pulled in over 22K impressions and reached 12K accounts in only 5 days!

There’s a line most people don’t think about until they cross it. The line between opinion and liability.

We live in a world where everyone has a platform, and that’s not a bad thing. But somewhere along the way, people started treating statements of fact, accusations, and speculation like they all carry the same weight. They don’t.

Saying “I don’t like someone” is an opinion.

Saying something false that harms their reputation is something else entirely.

And that “something else” is where things get expensive.

Defamation isn’t just a buzzword. It’s defined in law. It carries real consequences. And when it overlaps with harassment, false reporting, or coordinated attacks, it can escalate quickly.

This isn’t about telling people to stay quiet. It’s about understanding the difference between speaking freely and creating risk for yourself or your organization.

At Sierra Focus Media, we help clients navigate that line every day. Protecting your reputation isn’t just about what you say. It’s about knowing how, when, and whether to say it at all.

If you’ve never really thought about where that line is, now’s a good time.

We broke it down here: https://sierrafocusmedia.com/wordshaveweight/

Just in case you didn’t know.

This week, Sierra Focus Media was in Yosemite National Park for the Yosemite Gateway Partners Spring Quarterly Meeting, and it’s one of the clearest examples of how this region gets smarter, faster, and more aligned. Being in these rooms is what allows us to translate regional insight into real strategy for our clients.

You’ve got Yosemite National Park leadership, hospitality operators, small businesses, local governments, and regional partners all in one place. Not siloed. Not guessing. Actually sharing information in real time.

That matters. Because nothing out here happens in a vacuum. Visitor patterns, park policy, staffing, infrastructure, fire, water, housing, workforce, all of it is connected. And if we want to be more nimble and more strategic as a region, this is what it looks like.

For us, this ties directly into the work we’re leading across the Sierra.

Through California Jobs First, we’re coordinating the Recreation & Tourism industry across multiple counties. Through Sierra Works, we’re bringing stakeholders together to stress test ideas and build real implementation strategies. Through Sierra Sourced, we’re working to strengthen the connection between local producers and the visitor economy.

Different lanes, same goal: a stronger, more coordinated regional economy.

Yosemite Gateway Partners is a big part of that ecosystem, and their quarterly meetings are one of the few places where all of these threads come together.

If you want to understand where things are going, or better yet, be part of shaping it, get plugged in.

Their newsletter is one of the easiest ways to stay connected. Updates from the park, regional priorities, partnership opportunities, all in one place. https://www.yosemitegatewaypartners.org/

We’re excited to be in these rooms and even more excited about what comes next.

Big news from SFM 🎉

We are excited to officially welcome Olivia McRee into her next chapter at Sierra Focus Media as a Graphic Designer.

Olivia joined us as a graphic design intern and quickly proved what we already suspected. She has a sharp eye for design, a real feel for brand storytelling, and a thoughtful approach to how visuals support marketing strategy. Her work reflects the businesses and communities she serves, not just what looks good on a screen.

Born and raised in Sonora, Olivia brings a deep connection to Gold Country into her creative process. That local perspective shows up in her attention to detail, her curiosity, and her commitment to growing alongside the community around her. Her background in studio arts and media design gives her a strong foundation, while her constant drive to learn keeps her work fresh and evolving.

Outside the office, Olivia is fueled by dance, art, books, and the simple joy of local cafes and community moments. She is always looking for new perspectives, whether they come from a melody, a page, or a good conversation.

We are proud to see Olivia take this next step and even more excited to have her growing with us at SFM. Please join us in congratulating her 👏
