Unpopular opinion:
Most small businesses aren’t bad at marketing because they don’t post enough.
They’re bad at marketing because they don’t know what they’re trying to make people believe.
So they do what everyone tells them to do:
Post more.
Boost the post.
Try a trend.
Change the font.
Buy followers.
“Be consistent.”
And then they wonder why nothing happens.
Here’s the truth:
Consistency doesn’t fix a weak message.
A boosted post doesn’t fix unclear positioning.
More content doesn’t fix the fact that your audience still doesn’t understand why they should care.
Marketing is not just “getting your name out there.”
It’s making the right people think:
“That business gets me.”
“They solve a problem I actually have.”
“I trust them more than the other options.”
That’s the game.
Small businesses don’t need more random content.
They need sharper messaging, better offers, clearer proof, and a reason for people to pay attention before they ever ask them to buy.
Because posting more of the wrong thing is not marketing.
It’s just noise.
And most businesses are already drowning in noise.
