Meet Callahan Dylan Carr...
"I am . . . .more than meets the eye. I am a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a musician, creative, passionate, organized, an advocate, an educator, a mentor, a warrior and an entrepreneur. I developed a love for the arts at a very young age and that early spark has continued to shape the rest of my life. If I am not creating or exploring my next idea, I am taking in the inspiration all around me in preparation for what concepts will come flooding in.
After spending my formative years in Michiana, I moved to Nashville, Tennessee-the epicenter of my life’s passion! There I earned my degree in Mass Communications in Recording Industry and Broadcast Journalism and immediately began working in television and the music business. What has traditionally been a very male-dominated industry did not always warm itself to my presence. I worked hard to prove myself worthy of my role and I was determined to stretch the limits of what that role could become. I was exasperated from seeing my female counterparts assigned labels and being told who they were supposed to be. I felt a strong need for autonomy over my own creative expression.
Since then, I’ve spent several years behind the creative lens of many successful brands, campaigns, and launches. During my time in agencies, I learned that much of what large corporations have access to felt elusive to smaller businesses trying to gain visibility. However, never before has media and broadcasting been so democratized for the everyday person. This is where I found my calling to help women champion their own narrative.
Now, I teach female entrepreneurs how to capture and produce their own brand stories through compelling videos. I aim to demystify the technology and structure of digital communications so that other women feel empowered to not only stand in their true glory, but to share their light with the world. As Troy Olson said, “if a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is worth a million”. I want other women to feel the freedom that comes from letting those one million words be their own.
Being an entrepreneur means being flexible and COVID has forced us all to reframe so much of how we look at our businesses. I’m proud to say that 2020 has given me the opportunity to refine how to reach others and still make impactful change. I am currently developing a digital course that can be taken from anywhere, at any pace for any female entrepreneur that is ready to learn how videos will accelerate their business. I look forward to reaching more women while creating a platform and community of support and instruction.
I am driven by my fiercely competitive nature and my desire to be the outstanding individual my toddler already thinks I am. Seeing myself through his pure, loving eyes has forever changed the way I speak to myself. Capturing his story as he grows gives me a new reason for persevering through entrepreneurship. There are beautiful stories all around us just waiting to be told. We can find comfort in the triumphs and lessons in the flaws if we just find the courage to press record."
