This golf town getaway lies on the other side of the fourth hole of Dogwood golf course. Mary and Mike Patterson have breezed between their Raleigh home and Pinehurst golf retreat for going on two decades. “It’s an hour and 15 minutes door-to-door,” says Mary Patterson. Because the drive’s short, the Pattersons can come and go as they please. “It’s just a nice getaway,” she says.
