If I was a realtor trying to grow my business in 2026, I wouldn’t spend my time posting boring house tours and hoping for the best.

I’d showcase the best features of every listing, run ads behind my content, build an email list with a local guide, stay top of mind through weekly emails, get involved in my community, dominate YouTube search, and answer every question buyers and sellers are already asking.

Most realtors are trying to look like realtors.

I’d focus on becoming the local expert.

Because when someone is ready to move, they don’t hire the realtor with the nicest business card.

They hire the one they know, like, and trust.

Can I be brutally honest for a second?

The algorithm is probably not the reason your social media isn’t growing.

Every week I talk to business owners who tell me they want more followers, more engagement, more leads, and even to go viral. Then I ask them to record a simple 30 second video and suddenly the excuses start rolling in.

“I don’t like being on camera.”

“I don’t know what to say.”

“I’ll do it next week.”

Here’s the reality:

People can’t buy from you if they don’t know you exist.

The businesses winning on social media right now aren’t necessarily the most talented. They’re the most visible.

The realtor constantly sharing market updates.
The contractor filming every project.
The doctor explaining common questions.
The business owner sharing their opinions and expertise.

Meanwhile, some of the smartest business owners I know are posting one graphic every few weeks and wondering why nothing is happening.

You do not need perfect content.

You need content.

People connect with people. They want to see your face, hear your voice, and get familiar with you before they trust you.

So if you’ve been waiting until you’re more confident, more comfortable, or until everything is perfect, this is your sign to stop waiting.

Visibility creates opportunities.

Not perfection.

Too harsh or completely true?

I think this is one of the biggest disconnects I see with business owners.

You think one good post is enough. It’s not.

People are scrolling all day. They’re seeing your competitors, ads, random content, and a hundred other businesses just like yours. So when you show up once every couple of weeks and expect someone to remember you… it just doesn’t happen like that.

It’s not even about your content being bad. You could have a great video, something that actually explains what you do really well. But if it’s the only time someone sees you, it gets lost.

Memory is built through repetition. Not just quality.

And when someone finally needs your service, they’re not thinking “who had the best post three weeks ago.”
They’re thinking of whoever they’ve seen the most recently and consistently.

That’s why consistency isn’t just about growth. It’s about recall.

Especially for local businesses. You don’t need to go viral. You just need to show up enough times that people recognize your name when it actually matters. Because familiarity is what gets you the call.

If you’re not posting consistently, you’re not giving people a chance to remember you at all. And that’s the real problem.

If you want help building a strategy where people actually remember your business and reach out when they’re ready… book a call with me at nickiemarketing.com

If you’re scared to get on camera for your business… your competitor is literally thanking you.

I hear this ALL the time on calls:
“I hate how I look.”
“I don’t know what to say.”
“I’m just not comfortable on video.”

And honestly? I get it.

Being on camera feels vulnerable. It feels awkward. It feels unnatural.

But here’s the truth nobody wants to admit:

You’re not bad at video.
You just haven’t practiced it yet.

You didn’t stop sending emails because the first one wasn’t perfect.
You didn’t stop taking sales calls because the first one felt awkward.

So why are we treating video like it’s a death sentence?

The crazy part is… you’re already doing this every day.

You explain your services on phone calls.
You answer questions in DMs.
You talk to clients in person.

Video is literally just that… but recorded.

Meanwhile your competitor is showing their face, sharing opinions, educating people, and building trust.

And you’re posting templated Canva graphics from your brokerage.

Who do you think people hire?

The human.
Every single time.

People don’t hire logos.
They hire people.

And when someone tells me “social media doesn’t work,” I go to their page and the last post was in 2022… or it’s just corporate graphics nobody cares about.

Nobody cares what brokerage you’re under.
Nobody cares that you’re a franchise.

They care about you.

And here’s the thing…

We’re still early.

In 10 years, every business owner will be on camera.

The ones who start now will dominate the digital market.

The ones who wait will struggle to catch up.

You don’t need to be perfect.
You just need to be visible.

If you’re thinking, “Okay but I genuinely don’t know what to say…”

That’s my job.

I’ll help you with the questions, scripts, bullet points, and strategy so you show up confidently.

If you’re serious about growing your business and ready to stop hiding behind graphics…

Let’s make you visible, confident, and profitable.

Let me tell you something I see ALL the time 👀

Business owners launch Facebook ads…

Check them the next morning…

And shut them off because “they’re not working.”

And I’m just sitting there like… you didn’t even give it a chance.

Facebook ads are NOT a light switch.

They’re a machine that needs data.

When you turn on an ad, the platform is learning.

It’s testing audiences, behaviors, placements.

It’s figuring out who is most likely to convert.

If you shut it off in 5 days?

You just killed the entire learning phase.

I turned my ads back on recently.

The first few days? Nothing crazy.

But I left them alone.

Two weeks later:

• 4 strong leads

• 1 already signed

• 1 highly considering

• 2 more calls booked

And I don’t sell a $50 product.

I sell monthly marketing retainers.

Let’s do the math:

If a lead costs me $100…

And that client pays $600/month for a year…

That $100 turns into $7,200.

That’s not an expense.

That’s leverage.

Ads don’t fail in five days.

People just quit too soon.

If you want predictable revenue, you need predictable patience.

And if you want help running your Facebook ads the right way, book a call with me. I’d love to help. 💻✨

Most local businesses do not need to go viral.

They need to be visible when someone is actively searching.

I see agencies obsess over trending audios, transition reels, day in the life content… and sure, it looks impressive. It feels validating. It gets views.

But when someone’s pipe bursts, AC dies, roof leaks, or basement floods… they are not scrolling Instagram hoping to discover their new favorite contractor.

They’re on Google typing “emergency near me.”

That’s intent. That’s timing. That’s where the money lives.

Virality feels good.
Search visibility pays bills.

Stop trying to make local businesses influencers.
Make them present at the moment of need.

So I just got off a call with a nurse practitioner who maxed out her credit cards for a $10,000 program.

And what she got in return made my stomach drop.

She’s smart. She’s successful. She already has patients. She’s not clueless.

But the marketing was that good.

They promised to build the whole course for her.
They promised a brand new income stream.
They promised scale. Freedom. A life upgrade.

What she actually got?

An AI-generated slideshow.

No real positioning.
No demand validation.
No messaging strategy.
No offer refinement.
No traffic plan.

Just a templated deck that looked like it was created in five minutes.

And when too many people in the program were unhappy?

They didn’t improve the delivery.
They didn’t add support.
They didn’t fix the system.

They turned off the live calls.

Read that again.

This is what happens when great marketing sells an outcome that doesn’t exist.

And the part that makes me angry?
They target good people. Nurse practitioners. Therapists. Coaches. Doctors. Experts who actually help others.

They sell the dream of “just package your knowledge and scale.”

But building something that actually sells requires:

Real positioning.
Real market validation.
Real messaging.
Real strategy.
Real support.

Not a Canva template.
Not an AI outline.
Not a hype funnel.

If a program promises the world without deeply understanding your audience, your niche, your pricing, your authority, and your traffic strategy…

Run.

Marketing can make anything look like the answer, even when it’s empty.

Stop falling for shiny funnels.
Stop believing expensive equals valuable.
Stop maxing out credit cards for promises that sound too good to be true.

If someone is selling you a done-for-you income stream without doing real strategic work for you, it’s not business.

It’s a pitch.

And the only person guaranteed to scale is the one selling you that dream.
