đşđ¸ Freedom has a funny way of changing as we get older.
When I was younger, I thought freedom meant doing whatever I wanted.
Now I realize a lot of what I thought I wanted had been shaped by expectations I didn't even realize I was carrying.
By the need for approval.
By fitting in.
By trying to be successful.
By making everyone else proud.
Somewhere along the way, I stopped asking myself one simple question...
What do I want?
Not what looks good.
Not what's expected.
Not what everyone else thinks I should do.
Just...
What do I want?
Maybe that's what freedom really is.
Not doing whatever you want.
Giving yourself permission to choose the life that actually fits who you're becoming.
Permission to build the business.
Permission to change careers.
Permission to take the trip.
Permission to set the boundary.
Permission to say no.
Permission to say yes.
Permission to wear the white pants. (Let's be honest...we're probably not getting another period anyway. đ)
Permission to stop hiding the things that make you uniquely you. Growing out my silver tresses turned out to be one of mine.
Permission to stop shrinking yourself just to make everyone else comfortable.
Because somewhere along the way, many of us forgot something important.
We don't need anyone else's permission.
As we celebrate 250 years of freedom, I'm also celebrating the freedom to become more of ourselves.
T**s up, Ladies. We're just getting started. đşđ¸
