Amanda appreciation post! (She’s gonna hate this.)
Amanda is basically the wing beneath the team’s wings. She’s constantly looking out for everyone, making sure we have what we need, solving problems before most of us even realize there are problems, and generally keeping the wheels on the bus.
But this past month? Amanda has been doing double duty.
She had her actual job as Managing Director of Small Town Startup…and then she picked up a second responsibility as Head of Facebook Marketplace while we moved out of our coworking space.
And if you saw the initial Facebook post heard ’round the RobCo world, you know this was no small undertaking.
Over the last 30 days, Amanda has helped:
Sold hundreds of pieces of furniture, décor, and equipment, many of them to other local small businesses.
Donated more than $300 worth of items to COPE of Robertson County.
Coordinated the donation of our podcast studio equipment to Recovery Court, so they can keep producing their podcast and a little piece of our studio can live on.
Donated hundreds of dollars in supplies, drinks, and other items to My Father’s House.
And somehow, while doing ALL of that, she also kept our marketing agency running.
She spent nights, weekends, and early mornings meeting people for pickups, answering approximately 900,000 Facebook messages, coordinating donations, moving stuff, and then working late into the night to make sure none of it came at the expense of our marketing clients.
Closing a chapter of a business takes an enormous amount of work that nobody really sees. Amanda carried a huge amount of that work for us.
And while she would probably prefer I delete this entire post and never speak of it again, we couldn’t let this chapter close without publicly saying: Amanda, thank you. We quite literally could not have done this without you. 🚀
