If you asked everyone on the Small Town Startup team what supporting small business means to them, you’d probably get a different answer from every person. šŸ’¬ šŸ’”

One person might talk about shopping local.
Another might talk about mentorship.
Someone else would say it’s showing up to events, sharing posts, making introductions, or choosing to spend your money with people who are building something meaningful in your own community.

But every answer would be rooted in one thing: intentional investment in people.

Because supporting small businesses has never been just about transactions. It’s about believing in someone’s vision enough to participate in it.

It’s understanding that behind every storefront, service, late-night idea, and early-morning hustle is a real person taking a real risk to build something that matters.

That support can look like a purchase.
A referral.
A conversation.
A comment.
A share.
A chance.

Small businesses do not grow because communities talk about supporting them; they grow because communities actively choose to.

That’s our answer to the question. What’s yours? Add it in the comments šŸ’›

When it comes to supporting local, we don’t just talk about it. We show up ✨

Small businesses grow stronger when the community actually participates in what’s happening around them. That means getting out, shopping local, and showing real support in real time!

Our team had the best time at the recent Statemint North Middle Tenn pop-up! This is what community looks like, and we’re always proud to be part of it šŸ’›

Small businesses are the heartbeat of every small town, and we will never stop believing in them.

Behind every storefront, every service, and every dream is someone taking a chance on themselves. We know what that looks like, and we know how much it matters.

At Small Town Startup, we exist to support that journey. Whether it is co-working space that gives you room to grow, marketing that helps the right people find you, or events that connect you with a community that gets it, everything we do is built around one idea: you should not have to do this alone.

Because success does not have to be ā€œbigā€ to matter. It just has to be real.

It's time to dream bigger with the right support by your side. Explore the possibilities: https://smalltownstartup.com/

Some people make a lasting impact on a community, and Leah Blocker is one of them.

As the Executive Director of RobCo Court Appointed Special Advocates, Leah has dedicated herself to standing up for children who need a voice the most, ensuring abused children are advocated for in court. The work is not always easy, but she shows up day after day with compassion, determination, and a deep commitment to doing what is right for every child she serves.

Our team recently had the chance to attend CASA's Pinwheel Planting Ceremony for Child Abuse Prevention Month, and it was incredible to witness firsthand the passion Leah brings to this mission. Hearing her speak about the work being done and the lives being changed was something that stuck with us.

At Small Town Startup, we believe in the power of community above all else. It is leaders like Leah who truly shape and strengthen the places we call home.

We love a strong leader. Our client, Ali Toll of The Toll Firm, is all that and more. An incredible personal injury lawyer, advocate for her community, volunteer extraordinaire, and friend. It's hard to call it "work" when we as an all-women team get to help other women connect with their communities.

Happy Women's History Month!

We gotta talk about this gal for a minute. If you know Miranda Head, you know she loves three things: God, her family and strawberries (right up until they make her crazy at the end of the season!)

Miranda and her family started Head's Farm's business to show their daughter where food really came from. And through that store, they grew a community around fresh produce, baked goods, gifts and more that continues to expand each year.

Is it easy? No. Just ask Miranda about the year that strawberries nationwide had a virus and she had to navigate a small crop with a huge, growing demand for it.

But this year, with just a few days until she re-opens on March 20, we just had to shout her out. She's crushing it, whether she wants to admit it or not, and we're proud to be the marketing gals who get to shout out all the cool things she and her crew do from the rooftops! šŸ“
