Need an easy content idea for Pastor Appreciation Month? This is the one! 😂

I hope my Pastor doesn’t see this because this is DEFINITELY headed his way! 😂 I almost didn’t want to share this one, but it was too good to keep to myself!

I would honestly ask all the SAME questions:

1. If you had to get a real job, what would it be? 😂
2. If you were actually athletic, what sport would you play? 👀
3. Other than the obvious, what’s something you would change about yourself? 😂

The goal is to catch your Pastor’s REAL reaction to each question. How are they going to respond when you ask them with a straight face? 😂😂

Just made my first carousel in Edits, and I can honestly say… this is an update I LIKE! 🙌🏽😂

Creating it was super convenient because I had access to so many of the same tools I’d normally use when creating a Reel.

And one of my favorite parts? 👀 When I added audio in Edits, it carried right over to Instagram with the carousel! 🙌🏽 Now of course I can work on my centering lol I may need a little iPhone pencil or pen lol

Most church communication calendars have a blind spot.
We pull out all the stops for Pastor Appreciation Month in October.

But we frequently miss the person standing right beside them — carrying the exact same invisible weight.

The first Sunday of September is Pastor’s Spouse Appreciation Day.

And the data tells a hard story:
📉 40-47% of pastoral spouses experience severe burnout from unspoken congregation expectations.
🏠 Over 50% of pastoral couples say full-time ministry is a hazard to their family’s health.
🔒 56% report deep isolation — struggling to find safe spaces in the “goldfish bowl” reality of ministry life.

Ministry spouses don’t need another generic graphic.

They need awareness. Boundaries. And tangible care from their leadership teams.

If your church hasn’t planned anything for this Sunday — it is not too late.

Send an email. Check in on your team’s families. Or show up after service with a simple Reel celebrating your pastor’s spouse.

Add these ideas to your church’s social media calendar for September!

Instead of just saying “Happy (National Day),” get creative. Inspire and encourage your followers by diving deeper into each date.

For example, for National Su***de Prevention Week, you could try:

1️⃣ How to check on someone” carousel: Practical, actionable: warning signs to notice, how to ask directly (“Are you thinking about suicide?” is the recommended direct phrasing), what to say, and where to point them. Community-equipping angle, not just awareness.
2️⃣ Resource card — 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741), plus the church’s own counseling ministry contact if one exists. Good as a save/share post.
3️⃣ Check on your strong friend” engagement post — Relatable, shareable, gets people tagging someone.
4️⃣  Testimony spotlight - Only if you have someone willing to share their story of hope and recovery, with their consent. Keep it method-free, ending on where they found support (this is standard safe-messaging practice).
5️⃣ Stigma-breaking pastoral message — Short video or carousel post from leadership: “It’s okay to not be okay” — the church should be a safe place to talk about mental health, not the last place.

I hope this sparks some inspiration and gets those creative juices flowing!

Whew, number 5 was a hard one! 😂

The one with the people in the meeting room had me STUCK! 😂

Shoutout to a local church right here in my hometown, Blow Your Trumpet Ministries, for this week’s content inspo! 🙌🏽

Here’s the idea: Find photos that represent different books of the Bible and quiz your church fam to see if they can guess them correctly! 👀📖

This is such a fun way to get your online community engaged AND test their Bible knowledge.

Now let me go start my research because I might have to try this one myself! 😂

Part 2! Save this for later! 🚨

First, let me apologize, church fam. 😭 I’ve been a little burnt out with posting lately (not good, right? 😂), and honestly, it came down to one simple thing:

I didn’t really have a plan for myself.

And THAT is exactly why this post is soooo important for you and your church. I don’t want this to happen to you! 😭

Having a simple posting plan takes away some of that “What are we posting today?!” pressure and gives you a rhythm you can actually stick to.
