Before my grandfather, Samuel Lester Haynes, passed away he asked me to never give up my tools. At the time, he couldn’t understand why I was ‘leaving the trade.’ I told him I was building on the legacy in construction that he and my father, both union carpenters, had passed down to me.

Today, as I step into my new role as a Vice President in our industry, I carry their legacy with me. I’ve spent my career preparing to be an advocate and a trusted advisor, just as they were in their time. Together, we’re building a future that honors the past and transforms communities.

In every step I take, I am proud to be Samuel’s grandson and Errol’s son. This industry is in my blood. I am grateful to serve at this new level and carry on their legacy.
