We are thrilled to announce the kickoff of our 2024 internship program with two exceptional high school students joining our team. Meet Anela Abdijanovic, a senior at Mehlville High School, and Sawyer Bess, a senior at Oakville High School. They are very accomplished students!

Anela's impressive list of achievements includes:
• 2023 S.M Wilson SKILLED Challenge Winner
• 2023 Outstanding Student Leader Award Winner
• Missouri Glory Award Recipient in Education
• Three-time Missouri Academic All-State Award Recipient
• 2023 Track All-District Honor Award Recipient
• Two-time State Qualifier for DECA
• Enrolled in the St. Louis CAPS Program

Sawyer's accomplishments are equally impressive:
• Three-year Broadcast Staff Member
• Executive Producer for the last two years
• Member of the 2023 Missouri All-State Journalism Team
• Winner of numerous state and national awards for broadcast stories
• Planning to pursue journalism at Mizzou

During the internship program, Anela and Sawyer will be instrumental in producing pro bono content for Circus Harmony and the Arnold Food Pantry. Both organizations are doing incredible work benefiting many throughout the metro area. We can't wait to see the impact these talented individuals will make!

Domestic Abuse: Kids are Victims Too is a feature length documentary we just completed that includes several first-hand accounts of domestic violence like the one seen in the trailer. It also includes commentary from experts about how to identify signs of domestic abuse early in a relationship, and strategies to leave an abusive partner.

Everyone involved in this production did unbelievable work, including our interview subjects, the Aligned staff and the actors cast to portray the instances of abuse.

Thanks to Cope 24 for the partnership on this important project. We’re confident the feature length documentary will help reduce instances of domestic abuse in the future.
