This is what community looks like. See you there.

Congratulations are in order for our friends at the Museum of Illusions!

The worldโ€™s largest privately held chain of museums, has been acquired by an investor group led by Brightwood Capital Advisors to accelerate its global expansion.

Since its founding in 2015, the Museum of Illusions has grown rapidly to nearly 70 locations across 27 countries, offering immersive, educational, and mind-bending experiences that inspire wonder and joy.

Under the new ownership, Brightwood and Constitution Capital Partners become the primary shareholders, with plans to fuel new openings in Sacramento, Miami, San Francisco, London, and Birmingham in 2026.

CEO Kim Schaefer said this next chapter will help bring the Museumโ€™s unique concept โ€œto more guests around the world.โ€

The City Foundry location has been delighting thousands of adults and kids alike since its opening in May 2024

With Brightwoodโ€™s investment and global expertise, the future of illusion has never looked more real.

Alongside the country's most notable institutions, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra is leading a national shift in how orchestras reach new and younger audiences. They are doing it through programming that feels genuinely of this moment, from the Playlist happy hour series to cultural partnerships with creatives and organizations like Mvstercamp, and through a social presence that meets audiences where they are, with sharp, relatable video, behind-the-scenes access, and collaborations with national creators like Tani Lior.

The SLSO made a cameo in Daniel Fosterโ€™s Forbes piece on the LA creative economy:

โ€œThe trend toward youth engagement is emerging nationally. The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra has achieved similar results in attracting youth, given fresh programming led by music director Stรฉphane Denรจve, including a symphony happy hour concert series called Playlist and a strong social media presence.โ€

SLSO, alongside peers like the LA Philharmonic, is redefining what a modern orchestra can be. Their work highlights St. Louis as one of the few cities outside New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago where the future of arts and culture is born.

The Missouri Botanical Garden continues to bring world-class experiences to St. Louis residents and visitors. Their newly announced Spring 2026 exhibit, โ€œPatterns in Nature: The Art of HYBYCOZOโ€ invites guests to explore the connections between art, nature and conservation with an immersive art and light installation.

This is the first time HYBYCOZO (pronounced hib-ee-ko-zo) artwork is displayed in Missouri. Created by artists Serge Beaulieu and Yelena Filipchuk, the work began in 2014 and draws inspiration from the inherent beauty found in mathematics, science, and natural phenomena. This version of the traveling exhibit will feature six brand-new, Garden-exclusive sculptures inspired by the living collections and conservation mission of the Garden.

While free to attend during the daytime, light and shadow are critical elements of HYBOCOZO, expanding the artistsโ€™ work beyond the physical medium. Illuminated from within, the patterns transform into portals of color and dimension, casting fields of light that feel immersive and otherworldly. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, guests can witness the effect first-hand during โ€œPatterns in Nature: LightFormโ€, an evening experience with the art of HYBYCOZO. The evening exhibition will be accompanied by live music as visitors enjoy and explore the interactive artwork throughout the Garden

The exhibit opens to the public on April 10 and runs through September 26. Tickets are on sale now.

Since 2020, UMSLโ€™s Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center has built the regionโ€™s leading entrepreneurship program through its renowned Anchor Accelerator and a full ecosystem of founder development, including undergraduate coursework, its entrepreneurship club, founder coaching and mentoring, applied programming, and its Entrepreneurship Certificate, for which enrollment has opened for the Spring semester.

Founders who go through the program receive the same hands-on curriculum as the Anchor Accelerator cohort. The Certificate is structured as five sequential courses, designed to be taken as a cohesive pathway. Each course builds toward a complete business plan and an investor-ready pitch.

Participants move through:

โšซ Market and idea validation
โšซ Business model design and financial structure
โšซ Customer discovery and positioning
โšซ Narrative development and pitch strategy
โšซ Capital readiness and presentation

Graduates leave with a fully developed plan, a refined pitch, and a formal credential from UMSLโ€™s Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center. They also gain access to the faculty, advisors, and entrepreneurial network that anchor the broader UMSL ecosystem.

The spring program begins January 21, so enroll NOW for your chance to scale your company alongside the regionโ€™s best.

Details and enrollment can be found at this link.

Citygarden is once again a winter, art-filled wonderland. Thousands of lights now adorn sculptures and trees throughout the downtown park and large orbs glow along the stilled water features. Festive music can be heard throughout the space. The garden will remain lit up for the festive season through February 16, 2026.

New this year, STL Bartenders To Go will serve hot beverages for the whole family on Friday evenings from 5 - 8 PM beginning November 28 through the end of the year. Additional vendors and performers will join the lineup each week. A full schedule is available at citygardenstl.org.

Make an evening of it: enjoy free kidsโ€™ ice skating at Winterfest, then warm up with cozy drinks and a walk through the illuminated garden.
