Weber Shandwick St. Louis

Weber Shandwick St. Louis Weber Shandwick is the in-culture communications agency. We make brave ideas that drive real impact

Cultural relevance was once the holy grail, but it's not enough to sustain or grow a business or brand today. So instead of simply observing culture, we are built to shape it. Our global network of experts helps us navigate a world of radical complexity. This means we can take on significant topics with brave ideas that make a big impact on the world — bolstering brand reputation and resilience in the process.

Talk about VIRAL! Weber Shandwick STL's very own Callie Rapp was part of the team that brought Pop-Tarts' viral edible mascot to life. Always so exciting to see our work define internet culture and conversation!

Kellanova’s Pop-Tarts’ edible mascot broke through the college bowl clutter with an approach Gen Z and millennials like to see.

Last week Weber STL participated in Filament's annual collaboration with the lovely crew from Bilingual International Assistant Services! The team had an amazing time learning about the organization and finding the perfect solution to help elevate the nonprofit’s mission. One of our favorite STL community events!

"Stay open-minded and flexible at all times. PR is a dynamic field, and we must always be ready to adapt to changes. Always be open to embracing new strategies, ideas, or technologies. That way, you will ensure the work remains both relevant and effective."

For this week's employee spotlight, we are highlighting Jack Probst, a Junior Associate here at Weber Shandwick STL. Jack is a valuable asset to the influencer PR space for Mars PetCare, Mars Wrigley, and Sherwin-Williams accounts. One thing Jack loves about working in PR is the fact that he gets paid to do something most people do in their free time--looking at content like dogs, candy and houses on social media!

To say we are proud to be a part of this Collective is an understatement. The campaigns, ideas and works by Weber Shandwick recognized during this year's Cannes Lions Festival were unmatched. Take a look to see the wins for all of the hard work!

"Always remember it is PR not ER! No matter what is on your plate and how overwhelmed you may feel just take the time to remember no one is going to die if they don't get your report out or note over to client before EOD. Just use your WS team to make a new plan and work together to make the next best thing happen!"

That advice comes from the incredibly talented Madisyn Siebert, this week's employee spotlight at Weber Shandwick's St. Louis office. Madisyn is a Senior Associate working in Client Experience on accounts for Huggies, ExxonMobil Retail Fuels and Bayer.

As we kick off Pride Month, we want to highlight an important win for some Weber Shandwick folks outside the St. Louis team. Their work with client Absolut earned an award in LGBTQ Community Engagement! A huge, well-deserved congratulations to all Weber Shandwick employees involved on this team.

“I enjoy the emphasis on being culturally relevant AND appropriate in the PR industry. I am honored to have the experience at WSSTL. The work culture is a great environment, ensuring every employee feels valued with respect to what makes one unique.”

This week’s employee spotlight is one of our interns, Joyce Jackson! She has been with Weber for a year and a half, starting as an apprentice and working her way up to an intern. Joyce works on several key accounts, including Cologuard, Bayer, and Kellogg’s while also serving as a member of the DEI committee.

We are also thrilled for Joyce as she became a college graduate this month! She said, “Proud to be a first-generation college graduate. Defying all odds.” Congrats, Joyce!

"Never underestimate the power of relationship building in media relations. Journalists need to know you care about your clients but also care about what they're doing and NOT ONLY when you have something to pitch them. Foster relationships that will ALWAYS get more and likely better coverage for you AND your clients in the future."

That's advice from Joe Morgan, this week's Weber Shandwick STL employee spotlight! Joe is our media relations guru; he shares his media expertise on all ExxonMobil, McDonald's, Kellogg's and Anheuser Busch accounts.

"Come on, that many people play video games, and beyond that, WATCH others play video games? Why does that matter for marketers? Amazingly, each month, 70.2 million U.S. users log on to Twitch to watch their favorite streamers. There are about 206 million gamers in the U.S. So, in the U.S. about 1/3 of gamers watch Twitch streams (gaming streams and more). Ultimately, when it comes to reaching your consumer audience, you need to "fish where the fish are" and with so many Americans gaming and *watching* others game, your brand or company should strongly consider {marketing via} gaming. But, make sure to look at gaming as a platform much like social media is now."

Some words of wisdom about the future of marketing in gaming from this week's PR Pro, Sean Hixson, Senior VP of Client Experience. Sean is a key senior member of a variety of consumer brand accounts in the food, energy, healthcare, tech and video game spaces.

Barbie, a Weber Shandwick client, has reached new depths in their latest efforts toward bringing inclusivity to whom it matters most--children. The latest doll in their Fashionista line was developed in partnership with the National Down Syndrome Society.

Weber Shandwick STL's own Rachel Balderramos along with the rest of the Mattel Barbie team in NYC have been leading the charge in all things Barbie media relations. Congratulations to the team on such a wonderful campaign!
