At 10:50 a.m. MDT today (Sept. 18), NWS Boise issued a Flash Flood Watch through this evening covering several southwest Idaho forecast zones, including the Northern Treasure Valley. However, the actual areas NWS identifies as being at particular risk are primarily burn-scar areas in the mountains, including Garden Valley, Banks, Crouch, Placerville, Atlanta, Anderson Dam and Featherville. The broader Treasure Valley is under heightened flood awareness, while the most serious flash-flood/debris-flow threat is associated with the burn scars.
