How can I find and fix my broken links quickly?
Maybe you made a typo in the link or moved the page and forgot to update any links pointing to it. It’s an easy mistake to make!
But internal links are important for your site visitors and as a ranking factor. So how do you know all of your links are working properly?
Option #1 - If your site is just a handful of pages you could go through all site navigation, your footer, and every page and click on each link.
Option #2 - If you are using Google Search Console you can easily view coverage errors by going to Index > Coverage > then viewing the error and excluded tabs.
Option #3 - ScreamingFrog will generate a list of all internal links and their status codes.
Option #4 - The site crawler in softserveSEO of course!🍦Our crawler will analyze your website to check for issues with site structure, and 404 errors. In addition to broken links, you can also easily find which site pages have duplicate page titles or metadata descriptions. (hint, that is bad for SEO!)
No matter which method you choose, be sure to add this to your to-do list every month or so.
