I've realized that I have been around for a bit and have never formally introduced myself.
I'm Mickinzi Ferguson, owner of Mickinzi Ferguson Design. I grew up in Walkersville, Md. but now spend most of the year in Stillwater, Okla.
I am a senior at Oklahoma State University, in the process of obtaining two bachelors degrees in Agricultural Communications and Animal Science.
I began my time at OSU with the focus to graduate and enter the workforce as a swine nutritionist. However, like most things, a curve ball was thrown and completely changed my plans. That curve ball was my sudden love for ag comm.
These past three years I have been able to dive more into communications, taking classes to strengthen my knowledge in digital media (social media, websites, and email communication), graphic design, photography, written communications, and audio and visual media.
"So what's is your plan after graduation," is a question I've been asked constantly after returning home for the summer. With the broadness that is communications, I have narrowed my sights on digital media and strategic communications. This field is everything I could want and more. Strategic communications allows me to work with clients to distribute their message to their audience so they can receive the information the fastest and in the most effective way possible.
This business has allowed me to take what I've learned in the classroom and put it into real life use while also enabling me to gain experience to put into future classwork or future job.
