I'm participating in the current Leadership Stoughton class run by the Stoughton WI Chamber of Commerce. I've met wonderful people and learned a lot about Stoughton. If I were to pick my favorite thing about the class (many of you know that I don't like picking favorites), it would be the awareness and appreciation it sparked for the people and organizations providing critical services here. Fellow Leadership Stoughton classmate, Laura Braund, is one of those people.
It is my pleasure to be a part of their rebrand.
On behalf of Stoughton Area Resource Team, Inc. (START) Board of Directors and Staff, we're delighted to share an exciting update.
Through the support of compassionate community members, and the foundation of a mission dedicated to "providing a safety net for those in crisis", START has remained a vital resource in Stoughton since 2001. As our society and community experiences change, START responds daily to an increasing number of requests for help from those at risk of homelessness, or surviving the impacts and traumas of living in poverty. To best meet the needs of those in crisis, it's critical we grow our program to provide resources and support adaptable to change.
With this in mind, START is proud to announce our strengthened commitment to helping our neighbors in need by presenting an organizational rebrand, and mission with a vision statement.
Mission: Stoughton Area Resource Team, Inc (START) helps community members in crisis by maximizing available resources to prevent homelessness and overcome the impacts of poverty.
Vision: To foster a community where everyone has the opportunity to live a dignified life, free from poverty and its associated stigma.
We look forward to continued collaboration with our local businesses, churches, community members, foundations, organizations, service clubs, and supporters to overcome the impact of poverty in our community. The foundation of our services remain the same; START links Stoughton Area School District residents under the age of 55 with community resources and provides support in housing and utilities stability, access to education, employment, food, health, transportation, and all other areas of basic needs.
START is extremely grateful to Erin Horswill, Principal of Atreyu+Bastion for her donated time and amazing talent in designing our new image and brand kit.
