❗️IF YOU ARE RUNNING YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH DMS YOU NEED TO STOP AND INVEST IN A CRM. And here's why...

Your client might end up like me. 👇

A photographer was giving away free newborn sessions, all you had to do was donate clothes and toys for a good cause in exchange.

I was immediately down.

The day of the shoot came - it was great. She was fantastic. 🧡

Then COVID hit 7 days later. I waited a month and a half before inquiring about the pictures, nothing.

Inquired again a month later, silence. 🤷‍♀️

2 months after, again, nothing. 🤔

Another month goes by, I DM her again.

✅Finally, I get a response. I provide my email address to receive the photos and my cell phone number for easier access to contact me.

I won't tell you how the story ends. But the point is, as a client, I or anyone should NOT have to hunt you down for a response.

So please, do not conduct your business strictly through DMs (inquiries are fine, but please direct them to your contact form). You need a system where you can store all of your client's information, and to be honest, appear more professional. 💯

👉 Invest in a CRM, make people communicate with you via email, have them fill out a contact form. Whatever you do, make it easier on not only yourself but your clients as well.

Are you ready to make your business processes SIMPLE but don't know where to start? 🤔

Here are 5 simple steps to help you automate 👇

1️⃣List out everything that you do for your business. This could be from writing emails, invoicing, categorizing your expenses, down to writing blog posts and posting to social media. Nothing is off the table here.📝

2️⃣Determine what it is you would be okay with not doing. Hate typing emails out every time (since you’re likely writing the same thing over & over again), hate categorizing your expenses, hate posting to your socials? Then you know it's something that should be automated. ⚡️

3️⃣Research and select systems you will need to use. Some tools/systems can do it all & some you might have to merge. If you’re not sure where to start, ask around your industry to see what others are doing or consider hiring a tech VA/systems strategist. 🔎

4️⃣Once everything is in its place, document your processes. This will be new to you, so it will be great for you to have something to refer to or if you decide to outsource. If you hired someone to help you set up your systems, they might provide you with SOPs so you won’t have to create your own. 📎

5️⃣After you’ve automated some of your tasks, determine if there are still things you’d like to get off your plate. If so, it may be time to consider outsourcing! 💻

Automating doesn't have to be complicated. ❌

It's meant to free up your time so you can get back to what you love doing the most. ✅

Don't hear what I'm not saying. 📢You don't HAVE to automate your business. But in all honesty there are really good reasons out there why you should.

But let's be real here, saving you time is a huge plus too. 🤪

There are so many softwares and tools out there that can help you do this. It's not important which one is the most popular but which one works the best for YOUR business. 💯

But what we aren't going to do is let that get us down. I refuse to accept that kind of energy this year. 🙅‍♀️

Nope, you don't. 🤯 But hear me out! 👇

I'm not crazy, trust me. 🤪 You don't HAVE to have these. But when I tell you it would make your life so much easier, I promise you they are worth it. 💯

If you want to be serious about your business and be seen as a professional then there are somethings that you have to invest in & do.

Does that mean you have to spend money on the best softwares out there? Definitely not. 🚫 (Did I mention some of them are free)
Are some of the paid softwares out there better? Depends on what you're looking for. 🤔

But what you DO NEED in your business is a process. ✅ Whether that means written down on paper, listed out in a project management system, or typed out on Google drive.

Because what all of these do have in common is 💫consistency💫! You want to make sure that when it comes to your clients that they are all getting the same kind of care and attention. Even if it's not a client facing task.

Because let's be honest here, your back end tasks are just as important as your client facing ones and in some cases they may link together in the end. 🔁

👉 The great thing about knowing your process and having it written down is that when it's time for you to hire help you have a clear outlined picture of what tasks you can hand off, what can be automated (if not already), and where improvements can be made for you to scale and grow. 📈

Let's be honest, there are so many different types of software out there for small businesses.

How do you know which on works best for you? Try them all. Yep! You heard me. Try them. 😳 I may only be slightly exaggerating.

👉 Here's what you gotta do:

1️⃣ Determine what you need out of your software. Some softwares do multiple things meaning you might only need that 1. ✅

2️⃣ Research what each of them do. YouTube them, Google them, read blogs, ask others in the industry, etc. This will help you in narrowing down what one could benefit you the best. 💻

3️⃣ Sign up for the free trail. We all like free. Am I right? Great news is most softwares and systems come with a free trial. Some longer than others. And some may be free altogether with limited capabilities. But being able to try before investing is key to finding what works for your business. 🔑

4️⃣ Set your software up! Yeah I know that sounds like a lot of work. But great news is there are a lot of professionals out there who can help you with this! (PRO TIP: some of them may be able to help you narrow down which is the best for you!) 😉

5️⃣ Freedom! The system and software you use should allow you freedom. Primarily meaning not needing to be tied to your desk or managing every detail of your business. We love a system that AUTOMATES! 🎉

6️⃣ Change. I know the word is scary. But if the system you've invested in is no longer working for you, change it. Re-evaluate and try again. 💯
