Big news for Martin County families and maternal healthcare on the Treasure Coast. 💙

Our client, Martin County Healthy Start Coalition, Inc., is helping lead an important effort to restore local maternity care access through the proposed Treasure Coast Maternity Center. Last week, the Martin County Board of County Commissioners approved a 25-year lease agreement for the future site of the center, marking a major milestone for the initiative.

Since the closure of local labor and delivery services in 2025, many families have been forced to travel outside the county to give birth. The proposed Treasure Coast Maternity Center aims to bring safe, accessible maternity care back to the community through a family-centered model focused on supporting mothers, babies, and families close to home.

We are proud to support Martin County Healthy Start as they continue working alongside community leaders, healthcare advocates, and partners to move this vision forward.

Have you ever walked into a new opportunity and thought, “Why me?” 🤔

In her latest Friends & Neighbors column, Firefly President and Chief Illuminator Stacy Weller Ranieri reflects on a moment from the early days of The Firefly Group, when a phone call led to an opportunity that felt bigger, more complex, and more important than anything she had taken on before.

She got the job. She was excited. And she still wondered if she really belonged there.

At the time, that feeling seemed like imposter syndrome. But looking back, Stacy sees it differently.

Maybe it wasn’t proof that she was in over her head. Maybe it was growth.

Because sometimes confidence is built by moving through the experience, learning as you go, asking better questions, and trusting yourself to figure out what comes next.

What an incredible evening celebrating the people and organizations helping protect and preserve Martin County’s environment. 🌿✨

More than 175 community leaders, environmental advocates, business professionals, educators, students, volunteers, and residents gathered at Willoughby Golf Club for the 2026 Environmental Stewardship Awards hosted Keep Martin Beautiful .

From conservation and education to beautification, innovation, and community improvement, the evening highlighted the many ways environmental stewardship takes shape throughout our community.

And in a world moving this fast, not everyone is willing to wait. ⏳

So maybe the real question is this:

A major step forward for the Indian River Lagoon and Firefly was honored to play a small part in its celebration.🌿💧

Partners officially broke ground on Edgewater Wetland Park, a 50-acre constructed wetland system designed to improve water quality, restore natural habitat, and create a space the community can enjoy for years to come.

Years in the making, this milestone reflects the power of public-private collaboration, bringing together local leaders, environmental partners, and community stakeholders with a shared commitment to protecting one of Florida’s most vital natural resources.

Once complete, the system will redirect and naturally treat up to 3 million gallons of reclaimed water per day, helping reduce nutrient impacts to the lagoon.
