🚨🚨 Laredo Police Investigating Overnight Fatal Crash

Laredo Police are investigating the death of a 24-year-old man who lost control of his vehicle early Saturday morning at the intersection of Highway 83 and Wooster.

The incident began around 3 a.m. when officers attempted to stop a black 4-door Hyundai that was being driven recklessly along Lomas Del Sur and Zapata Highway.

As officers initiated the stop and approached the vehicle, the driver suddenly fled at a high rate of speed.

Moments later, police responded to the scene of a crash at Highway 83 and Wooster, where the same vehicle had struck a utility pole, causing power lines to fall.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle and later pronounced dead at the hospital. He is believed to be 24 years old, but his identity has not yet been confirmed.

According to preliminary reports, the Laredo Police Department clarified that officers were not actively pursuing the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing.
