We love seeing events for our older youth too! This one is FREE for ages 8 - 18!

Join us at the Arthur United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 16, from 3-5pm as we engage in a guided sewing session, making a pillow case with local seamstress, Pam Simpson!

This workshop is open to youth ages 8-18. Youth do not have to be a 4-H member to attend. You will leave with a 4-H project that you can enter in Sewing Level 1 / Sewn Non-Clothing!

Participants need to bring the following with them to the workshop:
***All fabric should be 44/45" wide***
-3/4 yard (27") of a main fabric
-1/3 yard (12") of a contrasting fabric that compliments the main fabric color / pattern
-1/8 yard trim fabric that compliments the other color / pattern choices

Parents with children ages 8-12 are encouraged to stay for workshop to assist their child.

This workshop is FREE!

Participants need to pre-register using this link: https://registration.extension.illinois.edu/start/moultrie-douglas-4-h-sewing-skills-workshop

Join the Moultrie-County Shining Stars 4-H Club this school year!

Caring club leader, Erica Lehman, shares "I love our 4-H club! We have a variety of ages from first year members to our kids who are starting to age out. I am most proud of the people that they are! They are kind, caring, welcoming, and just super kids! We work a lot on public speaking at an informal level. I can see when new kids join, they are a little hesitant to talk about themselves or projects they are interested in... but our gang is polite, supportive and asks great questions. We try to keep the meetings fun and informal and next thing you know, everyone is visiting and participating. Annually our club plans a community service event. Recently we have addressed food insecurity by taking groceries to the Moultrie County Blessing Box (small food pantry box across from the Sullivan fire station). These kids are making our community a better place, all while working to learn new skills and visiting about common interests. I am super proud of the members of the Moultrie County Shining Stars"
