Just have to say I'm so proud of the clean up crews that have worked in sulphur OK today-after the Saturday Tonado.

As our house was not damaged as much as so many, we live on the edge of this awful tornado. The people I saw today were organizations and hard-working people. It was simply awesome to watch. On my block here in Sulphur were I live. We saw more people than I have ever witnessist on our street (I would dare say all in all, close 500 workers just on my street), working together-no fighting, no playing around just fast effective working. They starting with cutting down trees and picking up debris, moving it to the curbs then big dump trucks came. Tractors of all kinds pick up logs & branches big and small. When the dump truck was full it left, only to be replaced with a empty one. Men with chainsaws were all around everywhere I looked. (like 20 or so chainsaws) Then with smaller tractors and even a few I would call Wallies (from the cartoon movie wallie) they cleaned up the remaining bits. They even had a street sweaper I was like just a day ago we couldn’t see the ground covered by all the fallen trees. When they left the area a different crew came in. Removed old electric line and remove the poles that was broken, they moved over and different trucks set the pole stretch the line and replaced electric equipment that was all destroyed. They finished and cleaned up again best they could.

All in all, this activity was being done to help us out. I'm not sure even who they were I sat on my porch (mainly because it was cooler than in the house with no electric) and drew in my journral as fast as I could. You might ask why fast as I could? Because it changed so quickly. I am proud of the people here today. This was the real seeable action we saw (yesterday it seem like alot of planning was being discussed. Some cutting and cleaning did happen but oh not like today.)

We as Americans can come together to help each other. No matter our differences in politics. We Are the true Americans, No matter our skin color or race or gender.

So today, these people made this lady feel worthy and loved. I just thank every single one: from those working heavy equipment, to people asking us how they can they help and the many people passing out food and water. Young teens to old men and women, they were the frontlineworkers we saw. And today was only day two of post “Sulphur Tornado-4/27/2024”

I have not seen this kind of American Love and consern for each other! (I have read about it but never experienced it).

Thank you!!
Hats off to you All (even the one’s we did not see that were working from different places focused on serving us).

Thank you thank you!!!!!!

I will add a few drawing journal drawing tomorrow as again I have no electricity and it kind dark to take pictures..

Imagine if you couldn’t read. The world would be so dull. Reading makes us rich and full in so many ways.
Do you agree?

There are so many people who struggle at reading and honestly give up even trying.

That is so sad right?

Well that was me. I graduated high school a non-reader. But I realized I had to somehow learn to read to help me achieve my dreams. So I got a book and a dictionary. When I came to a word I did not know I looked it up…if I did not understand the definition, I looked up those words. And then Like magic it all came together for the meaning of that word. This took a lot of time. And real struggles and honestly lots of tears too.
But I did learn to read…
and I did achieved my goals in life.

So now I am creating a set of books to help those struggling. I have set I completed and set 2 ready to print.

If you love reading you know how empowering being able to read is.

Please help me spread the word to those who are struggling…so that one day they can't join groups like this one.

Book that assist students in learning to read. Can be used for dyslexic students, Learning Disabled students, young students learning to read. decodable books

We’re heading into the darkest days of winter - it’s important to self care, even if that’s just getting one thing done in a day.

DEPRESSION TIPS:
Shower. Not a bath, a shower.
Use water as hot or cold as you like. You don’t even need to wash. Just get in under the water and let it run over you for a while. Sit on the floor if you gotta.

Moisturize everything.
Use whatever lotion you like.
Unscented? Dollar store lotion? Fancy 48 hour lotion that makes you smell like a field of wildflowers? Use whatever you want, and use it all over your entire dermis.

Put on clean, comfortable clothes.
Put on your favorite underwear.
Those ridiculous boxers you bought last christmas with candy cane hearts on the butt? Put them on.

Drink cold water.
Use ice. If you want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost.

Clean something.
Doesn’t have to be anything big. Organize one drawer of a desk. Wash five dirty dishes. Do a load of laundry. Scrub the bathroom sink.

Blast music.
Listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something that’s got lots of energy. Sing to it, dance to it, even if you suck at both.

Make food.
Don’t just grab a granola bar to munch. Take the time and make food. Even if it’s ramen. Add something special to it, like a soft boiled egg or some veggies. Prepare food, it tastes way better, and you’ll feel like you accomplished something.

Make something.
Write a short story or a poem, draw a picture, color a picture, fold origami, crochet or knit, sculpt something out of clay, anything artistic. Even if you don’t think you’re good at it. Create.

Go outside.
Take a walk. Bundle up if you have too. Listen to whatever birds winter where you are, watch the squirrels, admire whatever lights are in the trees. Go to the mailbox, send a letter, a bill, a card.

Call someone.
Call a loved one, a friend, a family member, call a chat service if you have no one else to call. Talk to a stranger on the street. Have a conversation and listen to someone’s voice. If you can’t bring yourself to call, text or email or whatever, just have some social interaction with another person. Even if you don’t say much, listen to them. It helps.

Cuddle your pets if you have them/can cuddle them.
Take pictures of them. Talk to them. Tell them how you feel, about your favorite movie, a new game coming out, anything.

May seem small or silly to some, but this list keeps people alive.

*** At your absolute best you won’t be good enough for the wrong people. But at your worst, you’ll still be worth it to the right ones. Remember that. Keep holding on.
*** In case nobody has told you today I love you and you are worth your weight and then some in gold, so be kind to yourself and most of all keep pushing on!!!!

Find something to be grateful for!

May I please get 2 friends or family members to copy and re-post? I am trying to demonstrate that someone is always listening.

Just comment done so I know you have copied and reposted this
