Last week was a meaningful one for Summerville’s future!

I had the opportunity to attend the ENVISION 2047 vision reveal for the Town of Summerville, SC and Dorchester County, where community leaders signed a poster marking their commitment to the work ahead.

ENVISION 2047 is a community-driven roadmap created to help shape the future of Summerville and Dorchester County. I’m honored to be serving on the Advisory Board as this work moves forward.

I also attended the beam raising for Bonaire Park, a major downtown milestone for a walkable, mixed-use development that will bring new residential, retail, dining, and gathering spaces to the heart of Summerville. So exciting!!!

From a tourism perspective, both of these moments matter.

Thoughtful planning, walkable spaces, strong local business districts, public gathering places, and a clear vision for growth all shape how people experience a community. They impact not just those who live here, but the visitors who come to explore, shop, eat, and stay.

I’m excited to be part of conversations that help Summerville grow with intention while continuing to protect the character that makes it special!

Some March highlights:

📍 NTA’s CONTACT 2026 conference at the Lowcountry Conference Center — met so many fun tour operators!

🥐 The house salad at California Dreaming… yum.

🌸 The ’s sold out Historic Homes Tour (I partnered with the museum to plan and execute their social media campaign!)

It’s always interesting to look back at the end of a month to remember everything I did. March was a hectic month, but it was a blast!

Gov Con ‘26 is in the books! Earlier this week, I attended for South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism’s Governor’s Conference on Tourism.

One of the best parts of this conference is the people. I left with new connections, fresh ideas, and a renewed appreciation for the work happening across South Carolina.

Anyone else feel like January lasted approximately *nine business years*? 😅

Mine was long, but the good kind.

📸 January highlights:
• A little salt air on IOP
• Chamber Awards night 🤘🏻
• Middleton Place Garden Lights media event (still not over how magical that was)
• Summerville Tourism Council meeting with some really good conversations

So glad I had the opportunity to attend Explore Charleston’s Hospitality Academy Emerging Leaders session with David McNair this morning.

We spent time learning about personal wellness, mindfulness, and how taking care of ourselves directly impacts the way we show up at work and as leaders. A timely and meaningful reminder that wellbeing is not separate from our work, it shapes it.

Feeling grateful for the conversation and the perspective it brought. The beautiful scenery didn’t hurt either!
