Slippers, Stillness & the In-Between

Still working as a nurse.
Still building.
But this weekend… my feet are in slippers, not scrubs.

I’m surrounded by like-minded women.
Women who are tired of burnout.
Women who believe rest and ambition can coexist.

No alarms.
No shift trades.
No guilt for slowing down.

Just coffee, maybe a little , conversations, laughter, and a reminder that

I didn’t quit overnight.

Some days don’t look glamorous.
They look like early alarms, long shifts, cold coffee, and feeling like you’re giving everyone else the best of you… while you get what’s left.

I used to think this was just “how life is.”
Work hard. Push through. Be grateful. Repeat.

But one day it hit me.
Gratitude doesn’t mean settling.
Being strong doesn’t mean staying stuck.

So, I started making small uncomfortable choices.
Learning instead of scrolling.
Believing before seeing.
Building in the quiet when no one was watching.

Not because I hated where I was…
But because I love my family, my time, and my future more.

I’m not “there” yet.
But I’m not where I started either.
That’s what progress really looks like!

I'm a momma, wife & nurse. I love what I do (most days) but I also know how exhausting long shifts can be. I'm passionate about my family, health, wellness, and traveling whenever I can!
My biggest goal in life, is to be fully present for my daughter & husband.

Family isn't just where I rest, it's why I do everything!
School pickups.
Bedtime prayers.
Dinner together without rushing.
The little moments that don't feel little at all.
For a long time, I told myself this is just how it is. Long shifts. Missed moments. Being present... but exhausted.
Then one day it hit me. My family deserves more of me, not just what's left of me.
So, I made a decision to start building a life that supports my family, not separates me from them.
A life with more flexibility. More breathing room. More time together.
Because at the end of the day, success isn't the job title.
It's being there when it matters most.
