Officially today I have started my new role as Director of Sales at my job.

It's crazy to think that a few years ago I was stressed managing a team of salespeople wondering how in the heck I'm going to climb the corporate ladder and get into a director role.

Time and time again I watched as I applied for the next position and it continued to escape me, wondering if maybe I worked just a little bit harder or said something different I could've got the position.

I continued to work in a corporate environment and I'm thankful for all the insight and growth that was given to me by some great leaders. But I am also thankful for the lessons I learned from the not so great leaders I've had in my time.

I've continued to pace myself, continued to work, and continued to find inspiration not in those around me but in the realization of what I AM capable of. I know this is just another step on the ladder but it feels good hitting a goal I've set out for so long ago.

Keep working on yourself, don't give up, and remember; Sometimes it's not you, sometimes it's the situation you're in. Don't be afraid to go somewhere else to grow.
