A potential customer clicks on your ad.

They browse your website.

They leave without contacting you.

Did your marketing fail?

Maybe not.

Most people don't make a purchasing decision after a single interaction. They compare options, read reviews, get distracted, or simply aren't ready yet.

That's why re-marketing(retargeting) is such a valuable part of a digital marketing strategy. It allows you to re-engage with people who have already shown interest in your business, almost like a second chance, keeping your brand top of mind while they weight options.

The first visit creates awareness, but the second or third or fourth visit creates a customer.

August 17 is National Nonprofit Day. But one day simply isn’t enough.
Throughout August, we’re celebrating the organizations that make DeKalb County a better place to live, work, and call home. These nonprofits and community organizations quietly change lives every single day, and we’re grateful for everything they do.

Today we’re celebrating independence.

For more than 50 years, the Lions Of Illinois Foundation - LIF has helped people with vision and hearing needs live fuller, more independent lives. Headquartered right here in DeKalb, their impact reaches communities across Illinois through vision and hearing screenings, low-vision services, assistance connecting people with needed equipment and care, and Camp Lions, where children and adults with vision and hearing needs can build confidence, independence, and friendships.
Their work is rooted in a challenge Helen Keller gave to Lions nearly a century ago: to become champions for people who are blind and visually impaired. It’s a challenge the Lions continue to answer through service, advocacy, research, education, and hands-on support.

Because the ability to see, hear, navigate the world, and participate fully in life can change everything, we’re grateful for the generations of Lions, volunteers, staff, and supporters who have dedicated themselves to helping people throughout Illinois.

At Green Closet Creative, we’re honored to support organizations like this through branding, marketing, websites, and communications. But today isn’t about us. Today is simply about saying thank you.

Thank you, Lions of Illinois Foundation, for helping people see more possibilities, hear more of the world around them, and live with greater confidence and independence.

Today we’re celebrating sacrifice.

The freedoms we enjoy every day were earned through the service and sacrifice of those who wore our nation’s uniform. The Sycamore Veterans Club honors that legacy by providing a place of fellowship for veterans while supporting local charitable causes, youth organizations, scholarships, and community events throughout the year. Their commitment to serving others didn’t end when their military service did. It simply found a new mission here at home.

Because honoring our veterans means more than saying thank you, we’re grateful for the men and women who continue serving our community long after their military careers have ended.

At Green Closet Creative, we’re honored to support organizations like this through branding, marketing, websites, and communications. But today isn’t about us. Today is simply about saying thank you.

Thank you for making DeKalb County a more grateful, generous, and united place to call home.

Today we’re celebrating leadership.

Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self,” has inspired generations of community leaders to make a difference both locally and around the world. Here in Sycamore, Rotary members invest countless hours supporting local nonprofits, awarding scholarships, improving our parks, addressing food insecurity, and creating opportunities for young people to succeed. Their impact is measured not just in projects completed, but in lives touched through a shared commitment to service.
Because great communities are built by people who choose to serve, we’re grateful for the Rotary members who continue to lead by example.

At Green Closet Creative, we’re honored to support organizations like this through branding, marketing, websites, and communications. But today isn’t about us.

Today is simply about saying thank you.

Thank you for making DeKalb County a stronger, more generous, and more connected place to call home.

A lot of marketing reports celebrate one number first: website traffic. But a bigger number doesn’t always mean a better campaign.

Consider this:

Campaign A: 10,000 visitors → 3 qualified leads
Campaign B: 750 visitors → 42 qualified leads

Which one is actually doing its job?

Getting people to your website is only part of the equation. The real work is reaching people who are genuinely interested in what you offer, and giving them a clear reason to take the next step.

That’s why we look beyond page views. Who’s visiting? What are they doing once they arrive? Are those visits turning into conversations, inquiries, and customers?

Traffic tells you people showed up. Results tell you whether it mattered.

Today we’re celebrating vision.

Since 1948, the Sycamore Lions Club has embraced the motto, “We Serve.” From vision screenings and eyeglass collection programs to scholarships, community improvement projects, and their longstanding support of the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival, the Lions have quietly made life better for countless people throughout our community. Their commitment to serving others is woven into the fabric of Sycamore itself.

Because the strongest communities are built by people who put service before themselves, we’re grateful for the generations of Lions who continue to answer the call.

At Green Closet Creative, we’re honored to support organizations like this through branding, marketing, websites, and communications. But today isn’t about us. Today is simply about saying thank you.

Thank you for making DeKalb County a more caring, generous, and community-focused place to call home.

Today we’re celebrating independence.

For people living with disabilities, independence isn’t something to be taken for granted. RAMP works every day to remove barriers, increase accessibility, and empower individuals to live independently through advocacy, peer support, employment services, home modifications, and community education. Their work reminds us that when we make our communities accessible, everyone benefits.
Because everyone deserves the opportunity to live life on their own terms, we’re grateful for RAMP’s unwavering commitment to inclusion and accessibility.

At Green Closet Creative, we’re honored to support organizations like this through branding, marketing, websites, and communications. But today isn’t about us. Today is simply about saying thank you.

Great marketing isn't built in isolation. It's built through partnerships.

The strongest brands don't just promote themselves. They build relationships with organizations, businesses, and people who share similar values and audiences. When those partnerships are genuine, everyone benefits. New ideas emerge, communities become stronger, and each brand reaches people they may never have connected with on their own.

Whether it's collaborating on an event, creating content together, or simply supporting one another's work, partnership marketing creates opportunities that advertising alone can't replicate.

At its best, marketing isn't just about expanding your reach. Building a network of trusted relationships that continue creating value long after a campaign ends is what creates a sustainable strategy.

Today we’re celebrating home.
A home is more than four walls and a roof. It’s security, stability, and a place where families can build their future. Habitat for Humanity of DeKalb County partners with local families, volunteers, and donors to make affordable homeownership possible, creating lasting change one house at a time. Every nail hammered and every hour volunteered represents a community coming together to help neighbors build brighter futures.

Because everyone deserves a safe and decent place to call home, we’re grateful for the volunteers, supporters, and families who make Habitat’s mission a reality.
At Green Closet Creative, we’re honored to support organizations like this through branding, marketing, websites, and communications. But today isn’t about us. Today is simply about saying thank you.

Today we’re celebrating service.

For decades, the Kiwanis Club of Sycamore has lived by a simple mission: improving the world one child and one community at a time. Their impact can be found throughout DeKalb County, from scholarships and youth programs to support for organizations like CASA, Opportunity House, 4-C, local food pantries, and countless other community initiatives. Whether they’re serving pie at Pumpkin Festival, sponsoring youth activities, or funding projects that improve lives, Kiwanis members are always ready to lend a hand.

Because communities flourish when neighbors serve one another, we’re grateful for the countless hours Kiwanis members dedicate to making DeKalb County better for everyone.
