DON'T BE LIKE GRETCHEN WEINERS 🙅🏻‍♀️

Yes, voluminous hair is great. And the 90's blowout is certainly trending.

But gatekeeping knowledge and information from your audience and ideal client JUST to get that voluminous hair...
..ya, not so trendy 😣

One of the many roadblocks I see when people begin their blogging journey is this mindset that they don't want to give away their tips, tricks, and knowledge for free because they think their ideal client will never buy from them or want to work 1:1 with them.

And that couldn't be further from the truth.

Your audience needs to know you know your stuff. They want to see you walk the walk, not just talk the talk.

By blogging on a consistent basis (we're not talking every single day or even every week—more on this in tomorrow's post), you're able to establish yourself as a thought leader and go-to resource in your industry.

It helps you stand out from the crowd and those in your industry who do the same type of work as you.

But most of all, it helps you build trust with your audience.

They start to think, "WOW! If she's giving away all of this info for free, I can't imagine what XYZ (insert your course, service, product, program, etc here) is like!"

You become their go-to resource.

And then they start to tell their friends about you, which drives more traffic to your blog posts—and in turn, puts more eyeballs on your business, services, offers, products, etc.

So the lesson here...don't gatekeep your knowledge, go for the flat hair (no matter how trendy the 90's blowout is).

“When will my website rank on Google?!”

This is a question I see and have gotten more times than I can count. And rightfully so, there’s so much *glitz & glam* around ranking on Google.

(and if you’ve ever asked that question—no shame, it’s incredibly common!)

One key thing to know about SEO is that websites don’t rank on Google, the PAGES of a website rank on Google.

🤯🤯🤯

So let’s rephrase that oh-so-common question…

“When will the PAGES of my website rank on Google?!”

Well…you may not like the answer. But I’ll tell you anyway…

It depends.

(I told you it was a terrible answer. I hate saying it as much as you hate hearing it)

There are SO many factors that play into how quickly a page of your site will rank on Google. In fact, Google has over 200 ranking factors that it considers!

So if pages rank, you can start to piece together that having more pages on your website will give you more opportunities to rank on Google…

But absolutely do not just haphazardly add pages to your site solely for the purpose of trying to rank on Google.

So how do you add more pages strategically?

Not only are you able to showcase your knowledge and expertise, but you open up more and more opportunities to reach your target audience AND to rank on Google.

As I was driving listening to "Mastermind" on the new Midnights album, I almost slammed the brakes when I heard this line...
