On this day 86 years ago, Woody Guthrie wrote his most famous song, "This Land is Your Land," but did you know he also composed a ballad for Harriet Tubman? Written from the perspective of Tubman recounting her life story from her deathbed; the six-minute song explores Tubman's opposition to enslavement. While his telling of her life contains embellishments, Guthrie's ballad illustrates how Tubman has been remembered in American pop culture.

Last night, we teamed up with Visit Syracuse for a stellar media event at the New York Historical, hosted by I Love New York. It was inspiring to connect with tourism partners, press, and influencers from across the state on strategies and potential stories to boost travel!

The ultimate surprise? A private, absolutely GLORIOUS performance by Thayne Jasperson from Broadway's Hamilton! 🎤 What a night!

That perfect promotional photo 📸 or video? It's usually the result of an all-day photoshoot 🎥 and a lot of coordination! We pulled back the curtain to give you a glimpse of the action as we worked with Yellow House Creative and Matt Baldelli on behalf of Visit Syracuse on a fall photoshoot.

A huge thank you to all our tourism partners who let us 'invade' their spaces and brought the energy. It was a long day, but every shot was worth it to promote our amazing area! Also, meet the newest member of our team, Amaris!

The tourism industry across New York State is buzzing about the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal, and today, history will sail into town! 🚢 Join the FREE celebration as the replica Seneca Chief arrives in Baldwinsville on the Erie Canal. Tour the floating museum, enjoy food, and activities.

Oct 4 - 5 - Liverpool (pier near Salt Museum Area)

Enjoy food trucks, exhibits, and community fun through Sunday! Plus a lecture series on the Erie Canal and the Haudenosaunee on Sunday at the Skä•noñh - Great Law of Peace Center in partnership with the Erie Canal Museum. Opportunities to get on the water with Syracuse Boat Tours as well!
