What changes when something as fundamental as clean water is finally within reach?

On October 10, we’re proud to collaborate with Big River Film Co. and With My Own Two Hands for the Central New York premiere of When the Water Came, a short documentary filmed in Kenya that tells the story of Sharon and explores the profound impact access to clean water can have on a woman, her family, and her community.

Because access to clean water is about so much more than water. It’s about time. Independence. Opportunity. The ability for women and girls to imagine more for their lives.

Following the screening, CNY Women’s Network founder Alex Canavan will moderate a live conversation with With My Own Two Hands founder Lindsay Plumer and filmmakers Nathan Cronk and Brian Harvath about the story behind the film, their experience documenting it in Kenya, and what sustainable water projects can make possible for communities across East Africa.
