On Friday, April 24 through Sunday, April 26, volunteers nationwide are joining the history fun for National Historic Marker Weekend 2026. Spend time outdoors with family, friends, and neighbors while celebrating history and polishing up historical markers to help keep your hometown stories in the spotlight. ✨
Gear up for the celebration! A pop-up merch shop is now open with limited-edition hoodies and tees. Whether you are leading a team or volunteering solo, these items are a fun way to show your spirit and enjoy the weekend in style. 😎
Time is running out. ⌛ The shop closes on Thursday, March 26. Order now to receive your gear in time for the weekend. Ordering merch is completely optional and does not register you as a volunteer.
Make the Monday morning after Marker Weekend memorable. When someone asks, “How was your weekend?” you’ll have a story to tell. You helped preserve your community’s history, and your photos and gear will make it an event to remember.

Want to look the part while you make history shine? For the first time ever, we’ve launched an independent pop-up merch shop so you can celebrate Marker Weekend in style. Shirts and hoodies are a fun way to make the celebration even more memorable.
