It's time for another installment of our Meet the Team Monday series!

This week, we're excited to introduce you to Brian Higgins. If you're a sports fan, you've probably tuned into his show "The 315 with Brian Higgins." It airs weekdays from 4-6pm on Syracuse and ESPN Radio Utica-Rome. Brian's also the CuseSportsTalk brand manager.

Here's a bit more about him:

1.) What do you love about your job?

The beauty of sports is that there's something new to talk about every day.

2.) What are some of your favorite sports moments of all time?

I'm a Giants fan, so Norwood wide right(sorry Bills fans) and the Tyree helmet catch are right up there. I was a junior at Syracuse the year of the hoops national championship. Having Melo on campus for a year...did not stink. As far as events I've gotten to call, Syracuse beating the buzzer to force OT in the 2009 lacrosse national championship game and the women's basketball team's run to the 2016 national title game are on top of the heap.

3.) When you're not at work, what might we find you doing?

Trying to keep up with Max(5) and Vivian(3). That has a way of taking up the hours 😂

4.) Any book/TV show/podcasts that you've enjoyed recently and would like to share?

The Kindle before bed is a daily routine. The best book I've read in the last few years is without question "Project Hail Mary" by Andy Weir. If you liked the movie "The Martian" this is by the same guy that wrote that.

5.) What's one Syracuse experience/restaurant/place that everyone in the area should check out at least once?

Throw a dart and any Italian restaurant you hit probably won't do you wrong. But for my money, Francesca's remains the best one in town.

We will miss you Mimi

With heavy hearts, we want to inform you that Mimi Griswold has passed away. Most of you will remember Mimi as the host and creator of The Blue Moon Café. She was far more than that to all of us at TK99 & Galaxy Media.

She was a creative genius. She was kind. She was tough. She was fierce. Most of all, she was our friend.

To those of you that knew her as the “voice on the radio,” her love of the music was obvious. To those of us that knew her off the radio, her love of her family was the most important thing in her life.

She had two remarkable sons, three grandchildren, one-daughter-in-law and her husband of 40+ years all of whom she adored.

Bob and Mimi had a love story for the ages. It became even more apparent in her final years. Even when her health began to fail her, Bob never did.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Bob, her “boys” and “the grands” and her family - and to you, her radio family. She loved you as much as you loved her.

Mimi was one of a kind. Her legend will live on.

It's another magical Monday, which means it's time to introduce you to one of the amazing 🌟s in our Galaxy. This week, we're chatting with Lauren Morelli, a digital marketing executive. Let's get to know her a bit better, shall we?

1.) What made you want to work for Galaxy?

After meeting a Galaxy sales executive at an SU Football game and learning more about what Galaxy had to offer, I was interested in joining the team. I am thankful to be a part of the Galaxy team and excited to see where this role will take me.

2.) What were you doing professionally before you joined our team?

I was an Account Manager at ChaseDesign in Syracuse. I managed client relationships through strategic client projects, specifically working on numerous categories across Procter & Gamble.

3.) When you're not at work, what might we find you doing?

When I am not at work, you can find me at the gym, skiing, golfing, attending concerts, line dancing, spending the day hiking in the Adirondacks, exploring new places with my dog, Mazie, and spending quality time with friends and family.

4.) Any TV shows that you've enjoyed recently and would like to recommend?

I know it is an older TV series, but I find myself binge watching the TV series Nashville.

5.) What's one Syracuse experience/restaurant/place that everyone in the area should check out at least once?

If you enjoy summer concerts, I highly recommend checking out the Amphitheater in Syracuse. If you enjoy sushi, I highly recommend checking out Oriental Star in Fayetteville - the food is amazing, and the service is great!

It's Monday, and you know what that means! It's time for another installment of our Meet the Team Monday series.

This week, we're catching up with Drayon Johnson. He's a digital marketing specialist based out of our Syracuse office. Here's a bit more about Drayon:

1.) What made you want to work for Galaxy?

The reason I wanted to work here was due to the opportunity to contribute to a newly expanding digital division, while also being afforded the chance to continue developing my own personal digital marketing skills as well.

2.) What were you doing professionally before you joined us?

Before I came to Galaxy, I was a licensed real estate agent who was running my own personal real estate business for the past 6 years.

3.) When you're not at work, what might we find you doing?

When I'm not at work, you might find me either in the gym or in the middle of a DnD session.

4.) Any TV shows that you've enjoyed recently and would like to recommend?

The most recent show I've seen that has become my favorite is the show Peaky Blinders. Highly recommended. I finished it about a month ago and just started a rewatch to see what foreshadowing I missed on the first watch.

5.) What's one Syracuse restaurant or place that everyone should check out at least once?

I'm completely new to the area, as I just moved here from Texas. So, this is a question I will have to get back to you on!

It's time for another installment of our Meet the Team Monday series! This week we're catching up with Jade Harper, one of our digital marketing specialists. Let's get to know Jade a little better!

1) What made you want to work for Galaxy?

I was drawn to work for Galaxy Media due to its outstanding reputation in the industry. It is evident that the company is deeply committed to its clients and consistently strives to deliver exceptional results that enable businesses to reach their full potential

2) What were you doing before you joined our team?

Prior to joining Galaxy, I spent three years as a dining room supervisor, where I gained valuable experience in management. During this time, I learned the importance of fostering a positive work environment for all team members. I developed strong skills in managing diverse personalities, addressing challenges proactively, and taking initiative to resolve issues efficiently. Currently, I am pursuing my bachelor's degree in digital marketing and am also a private pilot.

3) When you're not at work, what might we find you doing?

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through activities such as going to the gym and attending yoga classes. I also have a passion for traveling to new places, exploring new restaurants, watching films, and, most importantly, spending quality time with my family.

4) Any TV shows you might recommend?

Recently, I have enjoyed watching The White Lotus. I have watched both Seasons 1 and 2, and with the release of Season 3, it continues to meet the high standards set by its predecessors.

5) What's one place in Syracuse that everyone should check out?

I thoroughly enjoy dining at Charlie's. Their pasta, garlic knots, and salads are my top choices. In addition to the exceptional quality of the food, the staff consistently provides friendly and attentive service. It is undoubtedly a restaurant worth visiting.

It’s hard to believe, but ESPN Syracuse signed on the air FIFTEEN YEARS ago this week!

Remember 15 years ago?

The year was 2010.

The Orange were ranked number one as Scoop Jardine, Andy Rautins, and Wes Johnson dominated the Big East and beyond.

The New Orleans Saints won their first SuperBowl, and LeBron James had us all captivated with “The Decision.”

The San Francisco Giants won the World Series and Phil Mickelson won the Masters.

Over those 15 years, we’ve covered two Men’s Basketball Final Four appearances, a Women’s Basketball Final Four appearance, and a Giants Super Bowl victory. We’ve been there through four Syracuse football head coaches, 12 seasons of Syracuse Crunch hockey, and so much more!

Here’s to the next 15 years of victories, defeats, trades, and tournaments!
