Right now, at this time, my biggest and most profound accomplishment was raising you.
From 15 and pregnant, the odds stacked upon us, no MTV money like the tvs glamorize, we turned the tables.
I worked multiple jobs, dropped out of high school, went to college to get my GED and Bachelors degree - you learned how to say āmamaā and walk, and become your own person. We grew together.
Mima never told me what to do, but she let me choose my own path (though, she did say any of them would be hard and that Iād have to put the work in). I couldnāt have chosen a better one.
From the scared young mom asking nurses for help and them telling me not to let my baby eat those bandaids because āthey know how us young mothers areā to the nurses who ask us if weāve brought a parent to sign the vaccination papers because they thought we were siblings. Itās definitely been a journey.
Twinning it with Daney and having Aunt Carlea watch you so she can call me at 2am to order pizza for her and her friends. Aunt Sandy letting us crash at her house whenever we wanted and needed, and Timmy coming in clutch with babysitting.
You were raised by women for a while there and it shows by how you treat your past girlfriends. You have a huge heart and I love you for that.
Ben came into your life and became your dad, even adopting you and taking you on as his son. I know heās just as proud of who you are and all youāve accomplished. Itās definitely been a team effort.
Jayce, I am so incredibly proud of who you are, of where your life is going and what you have ahead. You made hard decisions along the way and youāll have to continue making them but this accomplishment is a huge one and one you should be proud of yourself for.
You are my life and I couldnāt have done it any other way. I love you, Bubba.
