Did you know Minuteman Press Downtown Tacoma has been a staple of the Tacoma skyline for nearly 40 years? 🏙️

Back in 1985, we first opened our doors in the original Tacoma Stars soccer team office (now the Cliff Street Lofts!). Downtown looked a bit different back then, but our mission was the same: helping local businesses shine.

In 1996, we grew into our permanent home at 1111 A Street (the historic First American Title Building), and we’ve been right here ever since. Through decades of change in the South Sound, from the rise of the Museum District to the revitalization of Pacific Avenue, one thing hasn't changed: We are still here to serve you, Tacoma. 🤝

Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Sad, but true… the penny is on its way out.

After more than 230 years in circulation, the U.S. penny is being phased out. We are already seeing it at the counter. Pennies are harder to get from banks, slower to process, and increasingly impractical for small transactions.

So we are doing two things at Minuteman Press Downtown Tacoma.

First: If you are paying with cash, we kindly ask for exact change when possible. When pennies are unavailable, totals will be rounded to the nearest nickel.

Second (and this is the good part): If you have pennies you want to get rid of, drop them in our penny jug. Every cent collected will be donated to the Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital Foundation “Toys for Kids” program, in partnership with DeMolay Tacoma.

A small coin helped build this country. Its final chapter can still do some real good for kids right here in our community.

If you are stopping by for printing, copying, signs, or finishing work, bring your pennies with you. They still matter here.
