FIFA World Cup 2026 is putting Florida on the world stage.

In South Florida alone, seven FIFA World Cup 2026 matches at Hard Rock Stadium are projected to generate more than $650 million in direct economic activity and support an estimated 9,000 jobs.

That means more visitors in hotels, more tables filled at restaurants, more activity for local businesses and more eyes on Florida.

Below is a little list of when and where you can catch the games yourself. Who are you rooting for?

Florida’s food scene is having a moment.

The 2026 MICHELIN Guide Florida is out, and for the first time, the selection expanded statewide, recognizing restaurants from the Panhandle to the Keys including Tallahassee’s own Black Radish and The Huntsman!

To celebrate this milestone, the SMPR team is sharing a few of our favorite MICHELIN-recognized spots across the Sunshine State.

At SMPR, one of our core values is giving back to our industry and staying actively involved in the communities we serve.

That's why we're so proud of our PR + Public Affairs Director, Lexie Savedge, APR, for recently joining a PR panel for local business owners and nonprofits. It’s a great reflection of her work as President-Elect of the Tampa Bay Chapter of FPRA.

Way to go, Lexie!

Building community trust starts with showing up.

Orange County Deputy Sheriff Thomas Lin has dedicated his career to public service, community outreach, and helping law enforcement better serve the people who call Central Florida home.

In the newest episode of Fluent in Floridian, Deputy Lin joins SMPR President Heidi Otway to talk about his journey through law enforcement, his work with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office AAPI Community Liaison Initiative, and the importance of strong relationships between law enforcement and the communities they protect.

From improving communication to helping Central Florida residents feel more comfortable reaching out for support, Thomas shares how service, leadership and dedication can make a lasting difference.

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, making this a meaningful time to hear his story and recognize his work in Central Florida.

In Florida, the right message matters. But the right messenger may matter even more.

SMPR was proud to partner with the FSU College of Communication & Information School of Communication to better understand which public organizations and institutions Floridians trust most.

For organizations trying to engage with Floridians, the lesson is clear: effective communication is not just about what you say. It is about who says it, how it is delivered, and whether it accurately reflects the audience you are trying to reach.

At SMPR, we call that being Fluent in Floridian. 🌴☀

Yesterday, SMPR President and Partner Heidi Otway broke down a challenge many in our industry face: What do you do when your client’s view of the world doesn’t match what their audience actually needs?

In her IPREX session on cultural awareness, Heidi shared practical ways to solve that disconnect and encourage collaboration.

At SMPR, we’re big believers in learning by doing, and the IPREX Leadership Development Conference has been an excellent opportunity to put our approach to work in real time.

SMPR Creative Director Vanessa Guirey and PR & Public Affairs Director Lexie Savedge are participating in the IPREX Leadership Development Conference all week gathering leadership tips and insights from PR professionals globally.

Heidi, who is also President of IPREX Americas, exemplifies our commitment to paying it forward, sharing expertise and leadership across both SMPR and the global network of 1,100+ professionals in 100+ markets.

A special thanks to IPREX Executive Director Alexandra Mayhew for leading the conference. We're so excited for what’s to come.
