Happy 1st birthday to Dog House Social Media🎉

A year ago I started this crazy journey and haven’t looked back. I can honestly say I wouldn’t be here with you, my fellow dog fanatics. I am quite ✨obsessed✨ with the community I’ve created, the friends I’ve made and the businesses I’ve watched grow.

I truly can’t thank you enough for making this all possible! I’ve had the ability to watch myself grow, adapt and make an impact which is everything I wanted in a business.

As I plan for the new year, I’m truly excited to kick it up a new notches. Cheers to one year and many more🥳

It’s been awhile 💛

Welcome to the pack and thanks for tagging along on my journey. I have a few new regular and furry faces around here so I would love to introduce myself👩🏼‍💼

My name is Sierra; I’m a dog business social media manager. I began my online business journey back in October with hopes of helping other businesses fulfill their dreams and give them some task support. I then transitioned that passion into another passion of mine; the dog industry. I know support dog businesses with content strategy and management to scale their platforms 🦮

When I’m not behind my desk, I’m probably drinking iced coffee, shopping for my dogs, thrifting, traveling or being suffocated by my 2 large bullies. Bruno and Cora🐶🐶

The holidays are honestly a strange time. One side is enjoying friends and family while the other side is boosting sales and marketing. Use this time to find your balance 🤝

While your promos are most likely under way and your strategies are set in place, understand that the posts themselves may preform differently around their time. It’s normal for your numbers to fluctuate!

I’ve learned that many of my dog businesses are over achievers! While I love and appreciate you all dearly, I don’t want to see you burn yourself out by obsessing over likes and comments. Especially this time of the year!

Use this time to learn about your audience and gain a personal connection. This way you set yourself up for the new year and the future sales to come!

Your engagement may be down but this is a great time to create some fun content! Get creative and most importantly, HAVE FUN! 🎉

I often read “I don’t know about to post about?” or “I’ve already used all my ideas, I can’t think of anything new!” Or that people get into a creative flow then can’t think of ANYTHING🤔

Well, heck I even think that sometimes! The best part about social media is that it’s sustainable; reduce, reuse, and recycle. ♻️

👉🏼Reduce the stress by seeing the answers that are most likely right in front of you. When it comes to creating content, consider:
* What are your FAQs?
* What are the top google searches in your industry?
* What’s a question you got from a family member or friend when you started your business?
* What are other questions being asked under similar pages?
👉🏼 Reuse: One of the main goals on social media is to grow! Over time, you’ll gain new followers, friends, connections, customers and mindset. Checking your insights will allow you to see the posts that were successful and allow you to reuse that content with some current *spice* like HOLIDAYS (hint hint🦃
👉🏼 Recycle: Your business and content creation isn’t meant to stress you out. It’s a way to add value, knowledge and insight about your business to others. Hey, in a few months, I’m sure you’ll see this info broken down into 3 separate posts with some more value🤷🏼‍♀️

Fun marketing fact: consumers need to hear/see the same message about 7 times on average before choosing to buy! This is a great time to repurpose your content and add a holiday twist on it. Work smart, not harder🍗

The holidays are these huge events that happen every year. Everyone feels this anxiety that they have less time for everything. When in reality, nothing has changed. Do not let the holidays terrify you!

There are a few key elements to consider when marketing your content around the holidays. Let’s get into it!

⭐️Audience: As a dog business, you’ll thrive. The holidays are emotional, and vulnerable time for everyone. This is your chance to understand your ideal clients behaviors and buying patterns so you can directly market to them.
⭐️Engagement: it’s going to be all over the place. Some great days, some not so much. That’s okay.
⭐️Promos/giveaways: Fun but not necessary. Create VALUE through your content so you don’t have to do more work. This is the time to really sell your brand and make an impact in the dog industry.
⭐️Energy: This is the most important! Managing a business, family, dogs and holidays can be a lot. Protect your energy and sanity.

Connecting with your audience is ESSENTIAL in the dog industry 🐶

Believe it or not, but potential clients could be scrolling right by you if your business platforms are only showing dogs! Yes, people love some good dog pics, but there are plenty of influencers out there who deliver to that purpose🥵

If you’re a product or service based business, you have to show up. It’s the simple. Unfortunately, the dogs can’t connect so you have to be the one responsible connecting with the hoomans. 👩🏽👨🏼

People want to invest in YOU. Don’t be shy to show them why 🐕‍🦺

Pitbull awareness month🐶

Did you really think I was going to miss out on this? Heck no!

Bruno and Cora are both bully mixes who traditionally fall under the Pitbull blanket breed. Regardless, both breeds unfortunately have negative stereotypes and stigmas👎🏻

One of my main reasons for constantly training and working with them is to help break that stereotype. Pitbulls, bully’s, Stafford terriers or any kind are often left at the shelter for these reasons. Along with the unethical breeding dilemma that contributes to the surplus😭

One of the most painful things I heard from a distant family member was when he insisted on not having his older kids near Bruno because “pitbulls can’t be trusted.” At the time, Bruno was simply laying down and enjoying pets from the rest of the family🙃

I will be a Pitbull advocate for long as I live. If there’s anything these 2 dogs have taught me it’s compassion, understanding, loyalty, love and PATIENCE 😅

If you have the chance to make a difference, do it. Speak up and advocate. DO NOT BULLY MY BULLY💛

There’s no doubt that the pet industry is growing everyday! One of the most common struggles I hear is “my page isn’t growing and I’m not getting new clients.” Well, let’s break it down 🐶

People are investing in their dogs but they’re not investing where they are not educated and informed. So using the dog service industry as an example, why should clients choose to trust you with their dog? Here are some great ways to start building credibility through your social platforms:

🐕Post your face on your stories! Be proud! Show a “day in the life” and talk to your current/new clients.

🐕 Constantly share tips/tricks! People want a glimpse of what they’re getting into. Use your social platforms to share information that highlights your business’ style.

🐕 Make are you’re addressing their pain points! Go through FAQs and comments to see what potential clients are actually looking for. That way you can directly answer their questions with your content.

As a dog mom, I research any company before I purchase products or services for Bruno and Cora. Be sure to ask yourself, do my clients know I’m an expert? 🦮
