DSO vendors and consultants: how to slide into someone’s DMs without it feeling like a cold pitch. 👀

1. Find someone you actually want to know.
A DSO leader, potential client, podcast host, industry partner, or someone you’d genuinely like to build a relationship with.

2. Check if they’re active on LinkedIn.
Are they posting? Commenting? Sharing articles? If they’re never there, this probably isn’t the best strategy.

3. Spend a few minutes each week engaging with them.
And we mean actually engaging. Add your perspective. Ask a question. Share an experience.

Not “Great post!”

4. Pay attention to how they respond.
Are they replying to you? Starting conversations? Engaging with your content too?

5. Support what they're doing outside their posts.
Listen to their podcast. Read their article. Attend their webinar. Then share your thoughts or create a post about what you learned.

6. Keep building familiarity.
The goal isn't to comment three times so you've “earned” a sales pitch. 😂

It's to build an actual relationship.

7. THEN slide into the DMs.

“Hey, I've really enjoyed our conversations around ___. Would love to connect sometime and keep the conversation going.”

Now you're not a random person showing up in their inbox asking for 30 minutes.

They already know your name.

And if you need help figuring out whose DMs you should be sliding into…

Slide into ours. 🦄📲

DSO vendors and consultants: we do a lot more than manage your LinkedIn.
Yes, we create content.
Yes, we engage.
Yes, we make sure you're actually showing up.
But that's only part of it.

We're also looking for potential DSO clients.

Starting conversations and messaging prospects on your behalf.

Finding podcasts where you should be a guest.

Looking for panels, webinars, and speaking opportunities that put you in front of the right audience.
Making introductions.
And finding opportunities that can take the relationship completely OFF LinkedIn.
Because that's the point.

LinkedIn isn't just somewhere your company should be active.

It's a business development tool.

A comment can become a conversation. A conversation can become a meeting.
A connection can become a podcast, panel, partnership, referral, or client.
We don't just want people seeing your posts.

We want the right people seeing YOU and creating opportunities from it. 🦄✨

DSO vendors, consultants… don’t know what to post on LinkedIn?

Answer one of these questions:

What did I learn this week working with a DSO?
What’s a problem I keep seeing across multiple groups?
What’s one conversation I had that stuck with me?
What’s something I disagree with in the industry right now?
What’s one small win I had with a client?
What’s one thing I would do differently if I started over?
What’s something people in this space are overcomplicating?
What’s one article, podcast, or post I read… and what do I think about it?

That’s it.

You don’t need to “come up” with content.

You just need to answer the questions you’re already thinking about.

Because if you’re in the DSO space…

You already have more to say than you think. 🦄✨

It’s kinda chic to have a dedicated team behind your LinkedIn. 💅🦄

Especially when you’re a DSO vendor or consultant trying to actually grow your business.

Imagine having a team that:

Creates your content.

Keeps you consistently visible.

Engages with the DSO leaders you want to know.

Finds potential clients and starts building those relationships.

Helps secure meetings before industry events.

Finds podcasts, panels, webinars, and other opportunities to get your name out there.

And reminds you to follow up with the people you met before that business card disappears into the abyss. 😂

All while making sure you still sound like YOU.

Because having someone “post for you” is one thing.

Having a team thinking about your visibility, relationships, and business development?

Very chic. ✨

3 warm introductions. 15 pre-booked meetings. 1 private event.

This is what an actual event strategy looks like.

Not just a cute “We’re going to Dykema!” graphic posted two weeks before the conference. 😏

For one of our clients, the work started months before Dykema.

We focused on building consistent visibility with the right DSO audience, identifying the people they needed to meet, creating warm introductions, securing meetings ahead of time, and helping plan a private event designed for actual conversations.

The result?

3 warm introductions.
15 meetings already on the calendar.
1 private event with the right people in the room.

Social media should support your business development strategy, not live in its own little bubble.

If you’re spending thousands to attend a dental conference, the goal shouldn’t be to hope you meet the right people once you get there.

The goal is to already have the meetings booked before your plane lands.

DSO vendors and consultants: when was the last time you pitched yourself to be on a podcast?

And no, we’re not talking about getting on a podcast just so you can post an “I was a guest!” graphic.

Think business development.

The right podcast can put you in front of DSO owners, executives, and industry leaders you’ve been trying to reach.

But you don’t have to sit around waiting for an invitation.

Start here:

🎙️ Find the podcasts your target DSO audience already listens to and check their website. A lot of shows have a guest form sitting right there.

🎙️ Follow the host on LinkedIn. Comment on their posts, share your thoughts, and actually start building a relationship before asking for something.

🎙️ Listen to the podcast and send the host a message. Tell them what episode you listened to, what resonated, and why you enjoyed it. Be specific.

🎙️ When you do reach out about being a guest, don’t just say, “I’d love to come on your podcast.” Give them 2-3 topics you could speak about that would actually be valuable to their audience.

And once you land the podcast, don’t let that episode disappear after it airs.

Turn it into LinkedIn posts.
Share clips.
Tag the host.
Engage with the comments.
Use it to start new conversations.

One podcast can turn into content, visibility, credibility AND relationships with the people you’re trying to reach.

That’s why we don’t look at podcasts as just another piece of content.
They’re another way to get our clients into the right rooms. 🦄✨

DSO vendors: you spent $10K+ to attend the event. How many meetings did you have booked before you landed?

You picked the booth.

Paid for the sponsorship.

Booked flights and hotels.

Ordered the swag.

Planned the dinners.

And then showed up hoping the right DSO decision-makers would somehow find you........

Your event strategy should start weeks before you walk into that conference.
This is where business development comes in.

Before an event, we’re helping our clients:

👉 Identify the DSO attendees they actually want to meet

👉 Find the right decision-makers within those organizations

👉 Connect with them on LinkedIn

👉 Start engaging with their content so our client’s name becomes familiar

👉 Send personalized outreach before the event

👉 Turn those conversations into actual meetings on the calendar

Because the goal isn’t to meet ""everyone"". It’s to make sure you meet the ""right people"".

If you're investing $10K, $20K, or more into being at a DSO event, you shouldn't land wondering who you're going to talk to.

You should land with meetings already on the calendar.

That’s event strategy. That’s business development. 🦄

DSO vendors, consultants… lurking vs winning 👇

Two vendors go to the same event.

Same room.
Same people.
Same opportunity.

But only one gets the follow-up message....

Why?

One posted before, during, and after.
They showed up.
They stayed visible.
They gave people a reason to remember them.

The other?

Didn’t exist on Linkedin.

No posts.
No engagement.
No visibility.

So when it came time to follow up…

There was nothing to go back to.

Because in the DSO space, it’s not just about being in the room.

It’s about being remembered after it.

And visibility is what makes that happen. 🦄✨

08/06/2026

DSO vendors, consultants… you lost that deal because you weren’t top of mind.

Not because your solution wasn’t good.
Not because you weren’t qualified.

They went with the person they kept seeing.
The one who showed up.
The one who felt familiar.

Because in the DSO space, visibility builds trust before the conversation ever happens.

And if you’re not posting, engaging, or showing how you think…

You’re invisible.

You don’t need to be everywhere.

You just need to show up enough that when the opportunity comes up…

They already know your name.

That’s the difference. 🦄✨
