The solution– closing the stress response cycle! Let me explain..
The feeling of deep exhaustion for something you love doing and created for yourself sucks. It’s even enough to cause a panic attack about the tiniest thing. 🫠
What causes creators to burnout?
- Not feeling like the BEST version of themselves
- Struggle to envision the future
- Stressing over content performance
Although there is not a true underlying cause, you may relate to some if not all 3 of these.
Enough about the obvious, let’s talk about overcoming burnout by closing the stress response cycle! 🎉
Our bodies are wired to have a physiological, neurological, and hormonal response to what we perceive as a threat. Years ago, this threat came in the form of being attacked by a shark. Today, it’s caused by an overflowing inbox, content planning, or a collaboration that flopped.
➜ Close the stress response cycle with some physical activity (20-60 minutes), deep breathing, positive social interactions, laughter, affection, crying and creative expression all signal to our bodies that we’re safe.
➜ Make time for longer breaks, regular self-reflection, taking on projects you LOVE most and don’t be afraid to offload tasks from your plate.
Leaving the cycle open and trying to ‘power through it’ builds up and leads to burnout. 🙅🏽♀️
