"When you focus more on what you can learn from the game rather than on what you can add to the game, that is when you begin to grow and can start to change the game." -Sharonne Whittaker-Phan
People who focus on what they can learn from those surrounding them will always excel above those who are solely focused on themselves and what they can contribute to the equation. When you are an observer, a listener, and a collaborator, you gain the knowledge needed to better yourself. You gain the insight needed to better the relationship, hear issues, and solve problems. Overall, you become a better person. And this translates into business by:
⭐Applying these practices as you carry yourself into business and shape yourself into a better business partner and leader.
⭐You are better able to pick up on cues from those around you and seek a more targeted solution. If you constantly focus on what you can add to the business deal or on landing a payout from the client, then you stand to miss subtleties that can make all the difference in your client's world or the needs of the business deal. But if you focus on what your client's needs are from the very beginning until the absolute end, you can be a hero to change their zero and score where others have missed.
⭐This is a genuine practice that takes time, effort, and true intention. Focus on the issues they bring up AND the ones they don't. In order to gain that insight, you have to be in tune with their needs, not yours. Then and only then will your needs be fulfilled as a provider because you will have just solved their problems and changed the game. Not only will they pay you for your services, they will most likely return to you for additional services and maybe even refer you to others in their business circles.
Go out and change the game. And create, create a whole lotta game-changing material!
