If you want to be seen as an authority in your industry, here’s a little “hack” if you want to call it that…
A huge part of public relations is demonstrating your expertise in a way that brings value to people, even if they never spend a penny with you.
This is easier said than done though because it requires you to consistently show up and create content that teaches people something useful. This means giving away what many would consider the “secrets” behind what you do and how you do it.
Yes, that means some people will just use your information and never buy from you. That’s OK because those people were never going to buy from you anyway.
But by sharing your expertise, you’re building an engaged audience, which in and of itself creates authority status, and this demonstrates to journalists that you’re legit. That makes it far easier to get featured in the media because journalists don’t have to wonder if you’re a legitimate expert.
It’s not easy and there’s no magic way to make it so. It requires a strategic approach, a structured framework, and consistent effort.
But if you follow through consistently, this is an absolute game changer that can catapult you from just being an expert into being a recognized authority that people know, like and trust, and you can monetize the hell out of that while creating a massive impact in the world by serving more clients.
