Professional, fast, fair price โ everything youโd hope for.
I was there the whole day while he worked. We talked about his business, his goals, and what he wanted for the future.
When it came time to pay, I handed him a check, he said โthank you,โ and drove off.
I was ready to give him a 5-star Google review.
Eager, even.
But he never asked.
He told me during the job that he didnโt want to grow past one van. Heโs making great money, has low stress, and lifeโs good โ which I respect completely.
But if he ever wants to sell that business, or pass it down to his kids, heโs missing a huge opportunity.
Because online reputation is everything.
Every 5-star review isnโt just a pat on the back โ itโs digital proof that builds trust, increases close rates, and raises business valuation.
For small service businesses, online reputation is the new word-of-mouth. Itโs how you grow or preserve long-term value, even if youโre not chasing scale right now.
So hereโs the takeaway:
โ
Do great work.
โ
Make customers happy.
โ
Then โ ask for the review. (better yet, include it in your automated process after an invoice is paid)
That one simple step compounds over time into something you canโt buy later: credibility.
