Marketing Strategy #4: Use The Wealth Of Knowledge In Your Snail-Mailbox

To learn how to write direct response ads that get lots of new Clients, you need to see a lot of successful examples.

You have a wealth of information that you throw away every day. You think of it as “junk mail.” But this junk mail can give you a wealth of knowledge. Don’t underestimate it.

Tens of billions of dollars are still spent on direct mail advertising every year. Why?

Because it works.

You don’t have to spend a fortune to find out if your piece works or not... That’s another reason why direct mail is so great.

Stop throwing away junk mail and start reading it. Separate your junk mail into two piles. Ones that you think are good and ones that you think are bad.

Try rewriting the bad ones to make them good and get some practice.

Think of things that can improve the good ones.

Missing our friend...

Nothing Feels Good In The Middle

Stress is not a bad thing, but distress is. Distress will tear you down. Stress, like working out, will make you stronger.

Joe Polish says do one thing every day that scares you. That means doing something challenging. Through that challenge you become better.

There is a saying: “Life is not happening to you, it’s happening for you.” As a matter of fact, Genius Network Member, Dr. Sean Stephenson 's last words to Joe before he died from an accident were:

“This is happening for me, not to me.”

When bad things happen, ask yourself, “Is this happening to me, or for me?”

Listen: Nothing feels good in the middle. You’re in the middle of a bankruptcy? You’re in the middle of a divorce? You’re in the middle of an illness? None of it feels good in the middle. So, in the middle, it requires a lot of courage.

When you get done though, you learn from it. You grow from it. For Sean, it was passing on. While facing death he still centered himself.

If you can develop yourself to see things that happen in your life... even the most painful things... as there to help you, it can transform you.

I interviewed an individual years ago named Terri Lonier (), who wrote a book called “Working Solo.” During the interview, we talked about “The Million Dollar Racehorse.”

Think of yourself as a Million Dollar Racehorse… If YOU owned a Million Dollar Racehorse, how would you treat it?

You wouldn't shove fast food down it’s throat.
You wouldn't cause it to have sleep deprivation.
You would make sure it gets the best trainers, the best tracks, and THE BEST EVERYTHING. You would take care of that Million Dollar Racehorse, because it needs to win races to make you money!

You want to make more money?

Wake up every morning and meditate.

Do yoga.

Exercise.

Eat good, healthy food.

Be careful what you put into your body.

Get into a group with like-minded people. The beauty of getting together with a group is that it will give you perspective. When you are around people who have been there, done that, and can inspire you– it’s great. There’s power in proximity. As my good friend Tony Robbins says, “Proximity Is Power.” Tag someone who inspires you and can share this perspective!
