FAMBridge began as a seed thought in the visionary minds of Erik Thomas DuBois & Justin Maurice Mathews. Left with the task of caring for their Matriarch, the Dubois Family was hard-pressed into making the choice to place her into the care of a local nursing home. Being burdened with the desire to see to his grandmother'
s wel-being, young Erik began visiting her on a consisitent basis. This proved beneficial to Grandma LaDonna, whose spirit was lifted due to the weekly visits, and to Erik's parents; who had since relocated down south and were enthusiastic to hear the weekly reports erik presented to them concerning their matriarch. Upon visiting his grandmother, Erik noticed the lack of guests for the other inhabitants of the home. When asked about it, an employee noted that guests are few and far between, adding in, that is was irregular to see him visit as often as he did. Erik was not puffed up by this notion; he being a married man AND the father of six children, far undertood the constraints that life places on time. But it was then that his burden for his grandmother extented to all those souls within that nursing home. After giving it some deep thought and communicating his intent with his long-time friend Justin, a plan was formed. Over the course of a year, which encompassed ambitiously early morning meetings at the Mathews residence and filling their days with non-stop caffeine-fueled marketing research, FAM-Bridge was born. A new chapter in the care of a loved one had begun. Perhaps you've heard it said, "The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?" It is The Human Experience that connect us. And toward the latter years of a person's life, this holds most true. Yet the ever-expanding gap set on by work, immediate familial commitments and literal distance is dividing families. It is now that FAM-Bridge stands to reconnect the family and be the bridge for family interaction. It should be said that FAM-Bridge WILL "Bridge the Gap Between Families and Their Loved Ones."
