A powerful reminder of service, sacrifice, and the promise to Never Forget.
We're proud to share that the Steel Across America tour will be stopping in Texarkana on June 3, carrying a World Trade Center steel beam across the country as part of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation's 25th anniversary tribute.
We encourage our community to attend and help honor those we lost and the heroes who continue to inspire us.
We are honored to welcome the Tunnel to Towers Foundation on their Steel Across America tour next Wednesday, June 3rd, at 11:00 am at the US Post Office and Courthouse in downtown Texarkana.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation announced their historic to commemorate and honor those who sacrificed their lives on September 11, 2001. The truck, which was specially made locally by Ledwell and Son Enterprises, will feature a steel beam recovered from the rubble of the World Trade Center, reaffirming the promise America made to Never Forget.
Steel Across America was officially launched earlier this month, near Ground Zero in Lower Manhattan. Across more than 10,500 miles, the steel will make more than 35 stops in 21 states and Washington, D.C., visiting landmark locations, community gathering places, town squares, and major sporting events nationwide before culminating in its return to Ground Zero on September 11th on the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
The community is invited to attend their visit downtown and join our local first responders in honoring those who lost their lives. The exhibit will be open to the public and food will be grilled by retired New York City Fire Department (FDNY) members, Grill Team 6.
