The Bronx Bleeds

A picture speaks a thousand words,
You cannot read a proverb.
Pretend you're taking action,
When you're capitalizing on others' reactions.

My internal bleeding becomes external bleeding,
Written in your book of life.
Meanwhile, I lost a loved one
To someone who used a knife.

Motherless and fatherless children roaming,
Seeking love and care.
Do we dare talk about those same children
Who are trafficked because no one paid attention or was aware?

Food is scarce in the home.
Children are left alone.
They are left with the streets to raise them,
Time to be condemned.

Being in a gang is a family they never knew,
And now they are a part of the crew.
Girls and boys are afraid of their closest relative,
Who is a predator.

Publish this story, let me be the editor.
My neighbor becomes my competitor.
We are playing in a sandbox with no sand,
Rather shattered glass from a fight that broke out last night
At the bar on the Grand.

Ask a person in jail, about their Bronx tales.
You wonder why I'm mentally gone,
Because you never knew me all along.
Mental health is today's topic, don't make it an anthropic.

It's so true: observation is paramount in both business and personal interactions. Pay attention to body language and those subtle cues. If you walk into a space and someone seems afraid to reveal their true self, either online or in person, that's a key identifier of a personality you might want to distance yourself from.

This is a powerful fact about observant people: they are incredibly smart because they pick up on subtleties, value precise details, track nonverbal signals, adapt effortlessly to their surroundings, and engage in quiet reflection. Smart individuals are lifelong learners, question everything, and possess a strong sense of who they are. This keen observation helps them excel at problem-solving.

A word to the wise: if someone tries to silence you, it often means they're concealing something. Be observant, know your audience, and learn to differentiate between genuine personalities and those struggling with imposter syndrome.
