Cancer is weird because grief starts before someone is gone, because there are already moments we are alone and think “my mom would have loved to be here” but they already can’t. The mix of gratitude and grief swirl into a big mess of emotions, and sometimes you just have to breathe. Butterflies remind my mom of her dad catching them as a child, so today I’m posting this in honor of his birthday. Xoxo

PSA… the Christmas Markets in Europe aren’t cold. Facebook had me packing for seeing polar bears but it’s sweater weather here. 55 and no rain- Gym shoes and a light jacket would have been ideal. Its a midwest 55 not a southern 55. Iykyk.

Indoors has the heat turned way up… much warmer than the 72 most places keep it in the US. Pack layers so you’re not too warm!

The Gaia Hotel Switzerland

Prime location across from the train and bus terminal.

Historic Building- Gorgeous Restaurant with free organic break buffet. Delicious.

Lobby smelled incredible- like Christmas magic.

Staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming!

Room was huge! Couch and two bathrooms. Our room has a BO scent to it, but we could open the windows for fresh air. Everywhere in Swiss is overly hot inside, so a cracked window felt nice anyways.
