Maybe it is kinda chic. 🤷‍♀️

To build a business around the belief that women don’t need to become someone else before they’re worthy of being photographed.

You don’t need to lose the weight first.
You don’t need to get your old body back.
You don’t need to be younger, braver, more confident, or less awkward.

And you certainly don’t need me to make you beautiful.

I don’t have that kind of power.

But I can create a space where you’re allowed to see yourself without all the noise for a minute.

Where your body isn’t something to apologize for.

Where sensuality and faith don’t have to exist on opposite sides of a locked door.

Where you can look at a photograph and recognize the woman who has been there all along.

Because I believe you were created intentionally.

Every soft part. Every strong part. Every part that has changed with age, motherhood, grief, joy, survival, or simply being alive.

God called His creation good long before the world handed you a mirror.

I just happen to have a camera. 🖤

When you look through a bo***ir photographer’s portfolio, it’s really easy to think, “Of course SHE looks like that. I never would.”

But here’s what you don’t see in the finished photograph:

The nervous laughing.

The “wait, where does this hand go?”

The woman telling me she’s awkward.

The tiny posing adjustments.

Me demonstrating the pose on the floor.

The 47 directions I’m giving while taking the picture. 😂

The women you see in my portfolio aren’t professional models.

They’re women who were professionally photographed.

There’s a difference.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having goals for your body.

Lose the weight. Get stronger. Change your hair. Buy the clothes. Work toward feeling better in your skin.

But please don’t accidentally put your entire life in the waiting room while you do it.

You don’t have to reach the goal weight before you take the pictures.

You don’t have to magically become confident before you book the bo***ir session.

And you don’t have to earn the right to look back someday and have evidence that you were here, too.

Your body is not a before picture.

It’s the body carrying you through a life that is happening right now.

And she deserves to be remembered. 🤍

Not because she hated the photograph.

Because she couldn’t believe it was her.

And somewhere in that moment, something shifted.

She started realizing that the woman she had been criticizing for years deserved so much more grace than she’d been giving her.

That’s the moment I think about when people ask why I photograph women.

Bo***ir is never just about pretty pictures.

Actually, I don’t want you to become anyone else.

I don’t want to manufacture some hyper-sexual alter ego that doesn’t feel anything like you.

I want the woman looking at your photographs to be recognizable.

Maybe softer than you’ve allowed yourself to see her.

Maybe stronger.

Maybe more sensual.

Maybe more powerful.

But still unmistakably you.

Listen.

I’m not saying you need to start playing Christmas music.

I’m not saying you need to decorate.

I’m not even saying you need to acknowledge that December exists yet. 😂

I’m simply your friendly neighborhood bo***ir photographer informing you that custom albums take time.

Your photographs have to be taken, selected, retouched, designed into an album, approved, produced and shipped.

So if your Christmas plan involves handing somebody a physical Bo***ir By RAW album…

November 14th is the deadline for your SESSION—not your booking.

And earlier = less stress + more time to plan/pay for everything.

Read that again.
You can say no.
You can change your mind.
You can tell me an outfit suddenly doesn’t feel comfortable.
You can tell me you don’t want a certain pose.
You can decide an image stays completely private.
Your boundaries aren’t an inconvenience to your photographer.
In my studio, they’re part of the process.

You are extremely normal.

Excitement and nervousness can absolutely exist at the same time.

That’s one reason I require a consultation before you ever book with me. I don’t want the first time we actually talk to be five minutes before you’re standing in my studio in lingerie.

We’re going to talk first.

You get to know me.

I get to know you.

And THEN we decide if this feels right.

If you’ve been telling yourself you’ll book a bo***ir session after you lose 20 pounds, feel more confident, or finally start liking your body—consider this your permission to stop making the woman you are today wait for her turn to be photographed.

You don’t have to love every part of your body to decide that it deserves kindness.

And you definitely don’t have to become a different woman before you’re worthy of being in the photographs.

Before the loose skin changes.

Before the next season.

Before you finally feel “ready.”

You are living your life right now.

Please don’t erase yourself from the evidence of it while waiting to become somebody you think is more photographable.
