Marie is just the best, isn’t she? It’s so easy to sit and overthink about everything and anything. But here’s the thing - we can think ourselves to death but true clarity comes from taking action; doing the thing and working it. You won’t know what obstacles are ahead, what you’ll need to work through, or what results you’ll get if you don’t start.

TGID: Thank God it’s December. November was a R.O.U.G.H. one for us. I live in Thousand Oaks, and between the tragic shooting at Borderline immediately followed by raging wildfires - things got a bit chaotic. It was and still is a very emotional time for my little city, and I’m so grateful to say me, my friends and family are happy and healthy.

This weekend I pulled out all the holiday decorations which really lifted my spirits. I’m so glad the weather’s changed to chilly cozy sweater weather and holiday music is everywhere. I’m 100% ready for all the joy this month can bring!

I don't have words today. This is my home. I live right next to the hospital here and last night heard the unusual sound of multiple sirens only to find out what was unfolding about 2 miles away.

I grew up here, moved away to San Diego for 9 years, and came back home about 2 years ago. Coming back to TO is something everyone jokes about, because somehow over time you realize how perfect it is, and come home. It's the perfect place to settle back down and start the next chapter of your life.

Seeing all the police, news crews, and helicopters has been surreal. This is a fairly small town where everyone is connected to each other in some way, so to see the tragic spectacle our little town has turned into brings me so much sadness.

More importantly my heart breaks for the families and friends of the victims. Unfortunately I have some close friends who are mourning these innocent souls and I cant comprehend the hurt they're experiencing. I just cant believe this is real.

Please hug your loved ones a little tighter, a little longer today, and always. Care for one another. Life is precious.

This week has blown by! I've been making some updates to Wedlocks Bridal's website and realized I've never shared it on here!

Lindsay has such a gift for bridal hairstyles, it's not hard to see why her clients rave about her. Lindsay is fun-loving, and always has a smile on her face, which can help keep wedding day stress at bay for brides! :) on top of that, she just makes her clients feel beautiful and pampered.

I created her website using Squarespace's Pacific template. Lindsay loves florals, so I tried to keep her branding and website fresh, floral, and bridal without feeling too princess-y.

If you didn't catch my Insta story yesterday, I told ya about a new project I'm workin on and am SO excited about!!

I've recently become a Canva Certified Creative, and with that little nudge I decided it was a clear sign I had to do something I've been only thinking about doing for over a YEAR.

I've started creating a course all about.....drumroll please....

CANVA!!

Uh hello what else. It's my fave. My co-captain in online design.

Seriously, my clients ask, hey, think you could somehow make this?

Or, how do I make that?

My answer literally almost always: Canva.

Opt-ins, checklists, guides, business cards, website graphics, logos, I make it in .

A lot of people don't think they can design, or they don't know that they can use it strategically to grow their business.

So I'm making a course that'll show ya how. I can't wait. More to come soon!

Ahhh!! YOU GUYS. YOUUU GUYYYYYSSSS!!! I can hardly contain my excitement. I've officially become a member of Canva's invite-only community of designers and educators - The Canva Certified Creatives.

I've been working with Canva's amazing platform for years, creating everything from website and opt-in graphics, to social media posts, mockups, custom graphics, etc. - you name it I've made it with .

It's been my favorite tool to create my own branding and style for my business and for my clients! It's unlike anything else out there.

I've even made video tutorials on YouTube for ways to use Canva for your business.. one of them actually has over 12k views and tons of comments. If you didn't know, go check it out! (youtube.com/katiebrimmer)

So what does this mean for YOU?

Welp, first it means you can trust that I know what I'm talkin' 'bout when it comes to creating amazing stuff for your biz with Canva.

Did you know if you get clients mostly by referrals, that having a (stunning & strategic) website can actually get you MORE referrals?! ☎️🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️
Here's the thing- no one wants to refer someone who looks kinda questionable.

Imagine if a past client tells someone about you and your business...what's the first thing the other person is going to ask?

I mean, what do YOU usually ask when someone tells you about a new product or business?

Yep. "DO THEY HAVE A WEBSITE I CAN LOOK AT?"

Don't kid yourself. You KNOW this is how it goes down now.

So don't make your past clients look shady when giving referrals to their friends to a guy who is "really great, I promise!" With no website and no proof of work, quality of service, or even his actual EXISTANCE on this earth other than a random phone number on a napkin.

Have a beautiful website instead that people can send referrals to. Look as legitimate as you are! And make that stunning impression to potential clients.

The only thing you have to lose is that business to the other guys.
