The results are in: Most people say they hate website pop-ups and never want to see another one. The actual numbers on the conversion rates for pop-ups, on the other hand, say everyone is lying.

For example:

- Copyblogger found that implementing a pop-up strategy immediately boosted email list opt-ins.

- Pop-ups generally have decent click-through rates—often around 2%—higher than other kinds of ads.

- Pop-ups helped BitNinja increase subscriptions by 114% and boosted leads by 162%.
