This week at Topeka Solutions we heard from Rudolfo Duarte, with super green tree service. Rudy as he as he is known, moved to Topeka in 2003 from Leon Mexico, he had family in Topeka. In 2019 He started his tree service and continues to grow.

With this recent storm, many trees went down and most of those were weakened by carpenter ants. He suggested homeowners also check their insurance policy to see if house repairs are covered under insurance should a tree fall in their house.

Trimming and removing large trees is difficult and dangerous work. In his business safety is the number one issue not only for his employees but also for on lookers and making sure that they stay clear of the work area.

Terrie Driskell of DTRS
(disaster textile restoration specialist) spoke to our Topeka Solutions group this morning. She has been in the dry cleaning and textile restoration service for a long, long time and really enjoys helping people. One of the things DTRS does is help people after they have a house fire or a flood. They gather up all the soft tech styles and bring them back to their shop to be cleaned and restored to their original condition. All items are inventory and stored until the homeowner can get back into their home or if they need some items while they are in temporary housing, they can also request some of their items there as well or all of their items.
They work with your insurance company for billing.

Brandon’s Heating and Air spoke to our group this morning about his business practice and how he drives success.
He also spoke about carbon monoxide detectors.
Carbon monoxide can make you sick. Often from the hot water heater is where it is detected.
If you have a gas fired piece of equipment in your home you should have a carbon monoxide detector.

Caleb Reis with units spoke to our group this morning about their portable storage Units. They are small enough to fit in a standard parking spot.
These containers were designed for storage in Iraq, where they needed to ensure that no sand got inside of the Units.
People have used them for critter and pest free storage inside of their barn. Unis are great for decluttering a house before putting it on the market to sell.
Having personal items out of your home makes Remodeling by contractors go a lot faster.
Even for homeowners that are seeking waterproof storage for equipment and construction or even restaurants needing temporary storage for dry goods.
