***IMPORTANT TRAINING ANNOUNCEMENT***

On Tuesday, July 21st, and Wednesday, July 22nd, the Torrington Police Department is hosting a regional training event at Eastern Wyoming College focused on law enforcement response to active threat incidents.

There will be a significant Law Enforcement presence at Eastern Wyoming College on both days.

The law enforcement officers will be engaged in multiple reality-based scenarios intended to simulate an active threat in an indoor and outdoor environment.

Through coordination with our partners at Eastern Wyoming College, the west side of the campus, between the Tebbet Building and Lancer Hall, and the parking lot behind the Vet Tech building will be closed to the public during the training. The campus will otherwise remain open for regular summer business.

UPDATE: SPC’s risk for thunderstorms has expanded slightly to the north and northwest from previous outlooks. So, expect thunderstorms to begin popping up just after noon in both southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle and continue through the late afternoon and very early evening hours. The expectation is that most of this stronger activity should exit the region around 7 PM, so hopefully many festivities don't get interrupted!
